You can also activate additional hearing programs for listening to music or driving with the remote control.
For some time now, there's been a trend to adjust hearing aids louder or quieter using voice commands. The idea is really good, but Beltone is not quite there with this device yet. Don't worry, this feature would be nice but is not essential. Some hearing aids can also be controlled with a quick tap of a finger, without the need to press a button. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a hearing aid perfect. That’s why we’ll quickly check the extras that might be included: We really liked the optional tinnitus program. There are actually quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently plagued by a ringing or hissing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Serene 17 76 DWC is actually nothing more than a sound generator. It’s about generating wideband noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all hearing ranges. The tinnitus gets masked and is no longer perceived as disturbing.
A real added value is the remote maintenance service. For a change of the hearing aid settings, you no longer have to go to the specialist store; instead, you can directly contact the audiologist via the app. Over a cloud service, you can then load the new data package into the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
Tracking health data is a true added value in modern hearing aids. However, this Beltone model lacks the sensors for this service. It would have been nice to have some lifestyle functions, but those are not included in the Serene 17 76 DWC.
