A very quick way to adjust the volume is through the small button on the device. It is easy to feel, and you can adjust it louder or quieter in several stages. Additional programs for specific hearing situations can also be activated this way. Those who prefer not to use the button can simply have it disabled. The small remote control, which is available as an option, is very practical. For us, it is one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid volume or switch to another hearing program. No one notices it; reaching for the ear is unnecessary.
Voice commands are a fairly new way to control hearing aids. However, this model does not have this feature yet. That's not a big deal - the main thing is to be able to hear well. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is a tapping control. This involves simply tapping your fingers on the ear, which triggers a specific function. But this feature is not available in this Bernafon device.
As expected, we have a suitable application for smartphones. Here we are dealing with a powerful app that trusts its user and provides a comprehensive toolkit. Problems with phone calls using the smartphone are a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are completely wirelessly transmitted to the hearing aids. Headphones become unnecessary. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as for listening to music while exercising. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is required.

Very important in terms of simplicity is the support during the adaptation period. Especially after years of poor hearing, it can be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device has an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adjustment phase. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
The Alpha XT 9 MNR T is not equipped with a battery, so it is not rechargeable. It is powered by a hearing aid battery of size 312. It needs to be replaced every few days.
We also take a look at the robustness of the case and discover in the data sheet the protection class IP 68. This means that dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes hazardous after prolonged submersion. Touch protection is also included.

Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the Alpha XT 9 MNR T. We really liked the additional functions that are included in the Alpha XT 9 MNR T. Various assistants support your daily life beyond hearing and can be configured in the app. You won't want to part with such hearing aids.
