The control options for hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as one would like. The basic functions operate fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how users can access the Naida Paradise 50 PR beyond this. There is a button directly on the hearing aid. With this, one can adjust the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to customer preferences. The use of it is, of course, optional. The small remote control, which is available as an option, is very practical. For us, this is one of the most convenient ways to increase or decrease the volume or switch to another hearing program. No one notices it; reaching for the ear is not necessary.
The modern method of control via voice command is not yet found in the Naida Paradise 50 PR. In addition to buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids also feature tap controls. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and then the device switches. However, we do not have this feature at Phonak, as it would have required specific sensors.
Adjusting volume or special functions via an app is already widespread today, and the Naida Paradise 50 PR also follows this path by providing us with an app. This app offers much more than just hearing aid functions and makes us speculate about what hearing aids might be used for in the future—beyond good hearing. For our digital everyday life, a streaming option would not be bad. The device at hand meets our wish and includes a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows phone calls and sounds to be transmitted directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.

Simplicity & security
An important factor for the acceptance of a hearing aid is its practicality for daily use. This includes automated functions as well as robustness and user-friendliness. The situational recognition did not impress us much. Quiet and loud environments are identified, and the Naida Paradise 50 PR adjusts accordingly. However, as soon as the acoustic conditions become more demanding and various noise sources appear simultaneously, you may need to make some manual adjustments to the hearing aid. The adaptation to the new hearing experience is supported by a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely compensated. I just need to wear my hearing aids regularly.
The Naida Paradise 50 PR has a rechargeable battery. We find this very good, as rechargeable hearing aids are absolutely up-to-date. You don't have to have batteries lying around everywhere, nor do you have to change the battery in the middle of a concert. The hearing aid is simply placed in the charging station overnight and has enough energy for the following day.
With an IP68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand various adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it can endure longer submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.

Als letztes interessiert uns, ob es noch ein paar Goodies on top gibt: Gehören Sie zu den Tinnitus-Geplagten? Dann könnten Sie das optionale Tinnitusprogramm im Naida Paradise 50 PR verwenden. Leise, sanfte Klänge werden auf Ihr Gehör abgestimmt und beschäftigten alle Bereiche im Innenohr. Das ist nichts weiter als ein Ablenkungsmanöver, und es funktioniert erstaunlich gut. Der Tinnitus verschwindet in dem allgemeinen Geräusch und nervt nicht weiter. Das ist ein einfaches, aber wirksames Tool und bekommt von uns Extrapunkte.
Einen sehr guten Zusatznutzen erhält man durch das Angebot der Fernwartung. Über die App kann man mit seinem Hörakustiker Kontakt aufnehmen und sein Hörproblem schildern. Der kann die Einstellung entsprechend verändern und über die App in die Hörgeräte laden. Für Menschen mit wenig Zeit oder einem weiten Anfahrtsweg ist das ein toller Service.
Das Tracken von Gesundheitsdaten ist ein echter Mehrwert in modernen Hörgeräten. Für diesen Dienst fehlen diesem Phonak-Modell allerdings die Sensoren. Das Gerät von Phonak konzentriert sich auf die wesentlichen Hörfunktionen und bietet keine Extras wie Srachassistenten oder Übersetzungsfunktion an. Das hätte zwar Spaß gemacht, ist für ein gutes Hörerlebnis aber nicht erforderlich.
