Signia presents the Pure 3 X 312, a model from a price range slightly above average. It can compensate for mild, moderate, and severe hearing needs. It is a small hearing aid that delivers great sound through the receiver (= speaker) that sits directly in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.
Hearing comfort
The comfort features determine how pleasant hearing is experienced in everyday life. This hearing aid allows for solid comfort programming by the audiologist. A classic noise suppression is intended to reduce annoying background sounds to a bearable level. In the Pure 3 X 312, ambient noise is reliably detected but only moderately reduced. A fairly solid wind management is available in the Pure 3 X 312 and should be sufficient for everyday use.
An impulse sound reducer for short, explosive sounds is reasonably integrated here and is completely adequate for everyday life. We miss a good spatial sound, but the automatic focus can be quite helpful in situations with multiple people. The Pure 3 X 312 has 12 adjustable frequency bands, placing it in the mid-range. A good acoustician can certainly extract a reasonable sound from it.
Despite modern comfort features, tricky hearing situations can still arise. For this, the Pure 3 X 312 has an assistance mode in its app. Behind this is an artificial intelligence that analyzes the current environment and calculates a noticeably better setting.

“Can I adjust something on my hearing aid myself?” “Is there perhaps an app?” These and similar questions are becoming increasingly important when choosing a hearing aid, so let’s take a look at the operating and connection options. There is a button directly on the hearing aid. It allows you to change the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to the customer's wishes. Of course, using it is optional. A remote control is available for the Pure 3 X 312. It is quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume up-down option as well as various hearing programs.
In the test, we found no voice control option. This feature is not necessarily required, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is a tap control. You simply tap your fingers on your ear, which triggers a specific function. However, this option is not available in this Signia device.
As is customary today, we also find a smartphone app for the Pure 3 X 312. This app includes solid basic functions and adds a few goodies on top. The Pure 3 X comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows us to enjoy binaural phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over normal hearing individuals. We think that’s great and are happy to award points.

The Pure 3 X 312 features a solid everyday automatic that is likely sufficient for a quieter life. However, for more complex listening environments, we recommend the additional manual programs. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and slowly get used to the new auditory impressions.
Unfortunately, the Pure 3 X 312 is not equipped with a battery, so regular size 312 batteries are needed for operation.
We also take a look at the robustness of the casing and discover in the data sheet the protection class IP 68. This means that dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes dangerous after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.

In conclusion, let's briefly look at whether there are any extras: Signia has integrated a noise generator that plays some soothing sounds for those suffering from tinnitus. This can help distract from the tinnitus and provide a bit more relaxation.
We find the remote maintenance service quite interesting. If you don't have the opportunity to visit the hearing care professional, you can instead contact them through the app, briefly describe your hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, you can upload it to your hearing aids.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the Pure 3 X 312. The hearing aid also does without additional features like special assistance systems, a fall alert, or a language translator. This is not particularly problematic, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
