Driven by a mission to revolutionize the lives of people with hearing loss, Danish manufacturer Oticon is once again pushing the boundaries of hearing technology. With a bold, convention-defying approach and a passion for innovation, Oticon introduces the groundbreaking Oticon Intent – a major leap forward in hearing aid evolution.
At the heart of this leap is the brand-new SIRIUS platform, featuring a mini-chip specifically designed for hearing aids. With its immense processing power, it opens the door to entirely new possibilities.

MoreSound Intelligence is the core of Oticon’s hearing technology. It analyzes, processes, and refines incoming audio signals to deliver the most optimal hearing experience in every situation. To do this, Oticon Intent draws from multiple data sources:
Built on research into human communication behavior, the integrated 4D sensor collects four types of data to better understand your hearing environment:
Based on this data, Oticon Intent selects the ideal processing path:
This new sensor technology enhances 360° hearing and delivers even sharper speech focus.
Carried over from the Oticon Real, this feature identifies and reduces wind and handling noise – like brushing hair or adjusting glasses – that can interfere with sound clarity. The result: fewer interruptions and greater listening comfort.
Oticon’s Deep Neural Network mimics the brain’s way of processing sound. Trained on a vast library of real-life listening situations, the SIRIUS chip has learned how sounds should be perceived – helping it separate speech from noise with remarkable precision.
This analysis happens 500 times per second, allowing the hearing aid to adapt instantly and seamlessly to your environment – without you even noticing.
The Sound Enhancer amplifies the fine details of speech-relevant frequencies in challenging environments. This makes it easier to follow conversations—even in noisy surroundings.
The MoreSound Amplifier takes the processed signals from MoreSound Intelligence and amplifies them according to your personal hearing needs.
With its expanded frequency range now reaching down to 80 Hz (up to 10,000 Hz), you’ll experience richer, fuller sound with greater accuracy.
Despite the shift in sound perception, the amplification remains balanced – ensuring you get access to every detail. Advanced processing strategies enhance speech clarity by contrasting voices against background noise. This helps you understand speech more easily, even in noisy environments, with less listening effort.
Also onboard is the trusted SuddenSound Stabilizer, which detects and instantly reduces sudden loud sounds, then just as quickly returns to normal amplification mode. This lightning-fast response ensures your hearing experience remains smooth and undisturbed.
Because the impact of sudden noises depends on the situation, the SuddenSound Stabilizer doesn’t rely on fixed thresholds. Instead, it adapts dynamically: louder-than-average sounds are softened appropriately. A pen tapping on a desk might feel jarring in a quiet room, but barely noticeable in a bustling office – and the stabilizer knows the difference.
With Oticon Intent, the company breaks away from its traditional design path and introduces a brand-new form factor.
Naturally, the chargers have been redesigned to match the new form. It delivers impressively fast charging times:
Oticon states a battery life of up to 24 hours. Actual performance may vary depending on factors like degree of hearing loss and Bluetooth usage.
Desktop Charger
Stripped down to the essentials, the Desktop Charger is the ideal solution for overnight charging or quick top-ups throughout the day.
SmartCharger
Perfect for people on the go, the SmartCharger features magnetic contacts and a protective lid that keeps your devices secure during transport in a bag or purse. Thanks to the built-in power bank, you can charge your Intent hearing aids up to three times without needing a power outlet.
Oticon Intent is future-ready. With LE Audio support (compatible device required), you’ll benefit from clearer streaming sound and broader connectivity options.
We’ve covered the pros and cons of various Bluetooth standards in a dedicated article.
Thanks to the new sensor technology, Oticon devices can now be controlled with a simple tap on the outer ear. Answer calls without reaching for your phone or fiddling with small buttons behind your ear.
Smart accessories are the perfect way to extend your hearing range and make using your hearing aids even more convenient.
TV Adapter
The TV Adapter streams sound from your television directly into your ears at just the right volume – with brilliant, natural sound quality. It offers a range of up to 15 meters.
ConnectClip
Transform your Oticon hearing aids into a wireless stereo headset. Take hands-free phone calls, stream music from your smartphone, or listen to a speaker from a distance using the remote microphone function. You can even use ConnectClip as a discreet remote control for your hearing aids.
Remote Control
This intuitive and discreet remote gives you direct control over essential hearing aid functions—without needing to touch the devices themselves.
Example: Oticon Intent 1 miniRITE R
→ Model line: Intent / Tech level: 1 / Style: Receiver-in-the-ear (RITE) / Size: Mini / Spec: Rechargeable
Oticon Intent is currently available in one BTE version:
miniRITE – A behind-the-ear device with a thin wire leading to a speaker placed directly in the ear canal (receiver-in-the-ear). For optimal sound, it is typically fitted with a custom earmold.
R – Rechargeable: Oticon Intent comes with a built-in battery and a matching charging station.
Oticon has long pursued a unique vision: giving people with hearing loss a natural, immersive listening experience. With the new SIRIUS chip and integrated motion-based sensors, the Oticon Intent takes this vision to a whole new level. The movement-aware, brain-inspired signal processing offers remarkably effortless hearing that sets a new standard.
We would have liked to see a slight improvement in battery life. Hopefully, a second charging station with an integrated power bank will be available soon.
As for the new design of the Oticon Intent, we had slightly higher expectations – especially considering the ongoing trend toward miniaturization.
