September 2023 – the 9th month of the year – couldn’t have been a more fitting time for Signia to unveil its brand-new hearing aids: Signia IX, short for “Integrated Xperience.” As the successor to the highly successful AX technology, the new release had been teased for weeks as a groundbreaking innovation. Expectations were sky-high.

Back in 2021, Signia set a new standard for speech clarity in noisy environments with its dual-path signal processing, introduced in the AX platform. By separating speech and environmental sounds, the AX chip created a striking contrast between the two, making speech easier to understand. That technology has now been improved – and enhanced with a powerful new feature:
The developers have found a way to instantly detect who you’re talking to – even if it’s more than one person at once. Thanks to real-time acoustic analysis, the new Beamformer technology locks onto your conversation partners and keeps them in focus for as long as the interaction lasts.
Even if you turn your head or your conversation partner moves, the system adjusts dynamically. This makes natural group conversations possible – even the kind where people talk over one another. With Multi-Beamformer, you can stay actively involved in the conversation, no matter how chaotic it gets.
The Signia IX also features a Conversation Boost that raises speech signals by 3 dB – which can feel like doubling the speech volume. Signia calls this the “Lean Effect” – inspired by how we lean in when listening carefully.
Combined with powerful noise reduction, this lets you enjoy clearer conversations with less effort.
Your own voice plays a crucial role in how the hearing aids identify who you’re speaking with. Research shows we typically respond within 200 milliseconds when someone addresses us – and the Multi-Beamformer uses that reaction time to analyze your acoustic environment.
To make that possible, your voice must be reliably recognized by the device. That’s where Signia’s proven Own Voice Processing comes in. The hearing aids are trained to recognize your unique voice and differentiate it from others – ensuring a natural, comfortable sound for your own speech.
And no, you don’t have to keep talking for the technology to work. Once your conversation partners are identified, the hearing aids continue to track them – effortlessly, in the background.
Signia has significantly boosted battery performance. With an impressive 34 hours of runtime – including 5 hours of streaming – these hearing aids are built to go the distance.
Alongside the technical upgrades, Signia has also made a small but smart design change to the control button. The new rounded button not only blends more seamlessly with the overall look of the device but also offers a larger contact area, making it easier to press – especially for new users.
Pure IX Charge&Go (September 2023): The rechargeable hearing aid is worn behind the ear, with the sound delivered via a receiver placed directly in the ear canal.
Pure IX Charge&Go BCT (February 2025): Like the Pure IX C&G, also uses Bluetooth Classic for universal connectivity
Silk IX Charge&Go (October 2023): The rechargeable in-the-ear model is held in place by a soft silicone dome inside the ear canal.
Insio IX (March 2024): The battery-powered in-the-ear hearing aids come in two sizes. The actual size depends on your ear anatomy and degree of hearing loss.
Styletto IX (October 2024): The design model, featuring a sleek outer surface, is worn behind the ear, with the speaker fit into the ear canal using a custom earmold.
Active IX (October 2024): Rechargeable ITE in a stylish earbud design
The innovative IX chip technology is the perfect tool for delivering major improvements in demanding listening environments where effortless communication is key. We see tremendous potential to help people with all types of hearing loss enjoy real relief.
As with any advanced technology, however, a carefully fitted earmold is essential to prevent direct sound leakage and ensure optimal performance.
