By the clever decision to place the speaker directly in the ear canal, the foundation for good hearing success is laid, as the sound has a very short distance to travel to the eardrum. As a result, all sounds reach their intended destination where we want them.

In this model, presented to us by Audio Service, the manufacturer provides the customer with comprehensive noise management. Of course, noise suppression is integrated, which is intended to reduce tiring background noises. We are satisfied with the effectiveness of the noise suppression in the G6 16 Mood. It can not only be switched on or off but also adjusted in stages. A multi-stage wind noise management is also included. This ensures that listening outdoors is pleasant and free from disturbances.
We are pleased to find effective and efficient impulse sound damping here. This is definitely useful in everyday life, as it noticeably dampens the sound of doors slamming, dishes clattering, or similarly clunky noises. People with normal hearing usually don't think about spatial hearing. With this hearing aid, we don't have to either. A sophisticated system of directional microphones and binaural wireless networking generates a 3D effect that is very close to natural hearing. With 20 channels, the frequency band count in the G6 16 Mood is very high. This allows the hearing aid to be perfectly adjusted to each individual's hearing and offers good long-term tuning options.
The signal processing is based, among other things, on typical frequency patterns of speech and noise, but artificial intelligence is not yet in use here.

A very quick way to correct the volume is the small button on the device. It is easy to feel, and you can adjust it to be louder or quieter in several steps. You can also activate additional programs for specific listening situations with it. If someone wants to do without the button, they can simply have it deactivated. A discreet way to change the hearing aid is the remote control. It fits in any pocket. If the person you're talking to is speaking too softly again, just one or two clicks are enough to adjust the volume. You can also activate additional hearing programs for listening to music or driving with the remote control.
We are always excited when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional feature. For example, we would have liked to see voice control here. But it is currently not available in the G6 16 Mood. In addition to buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids also have tap control. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and the device will switch. However, we don’t have that here at Audio Service; it would have required very specific sensors.
As expected, we find a suitable application for the smartphone. Here we are dealing with a powerful app that trusts its user and provides an extensive toolkit. You no longer need headphones here, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from the smartphone to the ears – as long as the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

Everyday hearing is facilitated by the good program automation in the G6 16 Mood. It is rarely necessary to use the manual hearing programs, as the automation already covers many situations. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and gradually get used to the new hearing impressions.
Unfortunately, the G6 16 Mood is not equipped with a battery, so regular size 312 batteries are needed for operation.
The G6 16 is almost dust and water resistant and is certainly well protected against external influences with its IP 68 classification.

Extras
Everyone appreciates a few extra features, so let's see if we can find any here: We really liked the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who occasionally or frequently suffer from a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the G6 16 Mood is basically nothing more than a sound generator. It is designed to produce broadband noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all hearing ranges. The tinnitus gets submerged in it and is no longer perceived as disturbing.
What about remote maintenance? Such online services save a trip to the specialist shop, as you can directly contact an acoustics professional through the app. Unfortunately, we did not find anything like that for the G6 16 Mood. Too bad, that would have been a great additional tool.
Tracking health data is a real added value in modern hearing aids. However, this audio service model lacks the necessary sensors for this service. The hearing aid also does without additional features such as special assistance systems, a fall alert, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it has no impact on the important hearing functions.
