In our test, we usually start with the analysis of comfort features. A comfortable sound is characterized by a mix of speech and background noise that is realistic and as pleasant as possible. Various electronic tools take care of all the sounds. In the Entra B 10 MNR T, we find only the absolute essentials regarding hearing comfort. One of the noise tools is noise suppression, which is supposed to dampen things like traffic noise, refrigerator humming, or computer fan noise. Here, we have a rather simple form of noise suppression that should suffice for normal environments.
A so-called noise filter would have been nice; it would have made the clattering when emptying the dishwasher a bit more bearable. But we have to forgo that with the Entra B 10 MNR T. The Entra B 10 MNR T is also equipped for windy outdoor situations. The signal processing can identify wind and reduce it a bit. Locating directions when listening is relatively difficult, as there is nothing in the Entra B 10 MNR T that reconstructs spatial hearing. With 12 frequency bands, one can achieve a pretty good sound. A passionate musician may not be completely satisfied with it, but for normal hearing and sound needs, this number is more than sufficient.
An exciting topic in hearing acoustics is the use of artificial intelligence, but this is not yet applied in this Bernafon model.

Everyone has their own unique hearing needs. It is advantageous to be able to customize hearing aids beyond their automatic functions. In our test, we discovered the following access options: For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume, there is a button on the device. Additional programs for special hearing situations can also be selected through this. Upon request, there is a remote control for the hearing aid. This allows for effortless volume adjustment. The operation is not only child’s play, but no one will notice that you are adjusting your hearing aids.
We are always pleased when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional feature. For example, we would have liked to see voice control here. However, this feature is currently not available in the Entra B 10 MNR. Some hearing aids can also be controlled with a simple tap of the finger, without needing to press a button separately. This feature has not yet been implemented here.
The manual operation includes an app. This allows for discreet access to the hearing aid. In addition to volume control, you can also set hearing programs and a few more functions. Problems making phone calls with a smartphone are a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are completely transmitted wirelessly to the hearing aids. Headphones become unnecessary. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as when listening to music while exercising. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a suitable smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is needed.

There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently plagued by a ringing or hissing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Entra B 10 MNR T is essentially nothing more than a sound generator. It is about generating broadband noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus gets drowned out and is no longer perceived as disruptive.
A real added value is the remote service. For a change in the hearing aid settings, one no longer necessarily has to go to the specialist shop, but can directly contact the acoustician via the app. Through a cloud service, one can then upload the new data package to the hearing aids. That is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the Entra B 10 MNR T. Then there are a few lifestyle functions that turn your hearing aid into a smart assistant. Connect with voice assistants like Siri, or discover what else is available in the app. While this may not be directly related to actual hearing, it can be extremely useful.
