For us, it is one of the most convenient ways to make the hearing aid louder or quieter or to switch to another listening program. No one notices anything; there is no need to reach for the ear.

We do not yet find the modern form of voice command operation in the Beat FS 1 R T 13. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is tapping control. For this, you simply tap your fingers on your ear, which in turn triggers a specific function. However, this feature is not available in this Hansaton device.

As is common today, we also find a smartphone app for the Beat FS 1 R T 13. This app contains solid basic functions and adds a few extra goodies. Problems with making phone calls on your smartphone are a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are completely wirelessly transmitted to the hearing aids. Headphones become unnecessary. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as while listening to music during sports. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is needed.

Dust cannot penetrate, it can also withstand prolonged submersion in water, and it is protected against contact as well.

No longer do you have to go to the specialist store for a change in the hearing aid settings; you can contact the acoustician directly through the app. Then, via a cloud service, you can load the new data package into the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.

A new trend in the hearing aid industry is integrated sensors that can track a few personal health data, for example. However, the Beat FS 1 R T 13 does not offer this. The hearing aid forgoes additional functions like special assistance systems, a fall alarm, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
