Hearing aids are meant to not only bring speech to the ear but also sound pleasant. So let's first take a look at the comfort features. What types of noise does the hearing aid recognize? Are they dampened or transmitted unchanged? Is the hearing aid suitable for a lively everyday life? Here with this test device, we found only limited options for comfort adjustment. As with any hearing aid, it also includes the typical noise reduction feature. It is designed to reduce constant, rustling background noises to the point where they are less dominating. We would rate the noise reduction of the Entra B 20 MNR T as mediocre. It is sufficient unless you live in a very noisy environment.
Those who enjoy being outdoors will appreciate the wind noise reduction. While it doesn't dampen as strongly, it is definitely useful. Our test discovered impulse sound damping. It slightly mitigates loud, sudden noises. A few more frequency channels would be desirable, but the existing 14 channels are already quite workable. Spatial hearing would still be an important point, but not much can be said about this Bernafon hearing aid in that regard. There are no special features that support or replicate spatial hearing in any way. This is something to consider, especially if you often spend time outdoors in public spaces.
Sometimes we encounter hearing aids that successfully process data using artificial intelligence, but that is not the case with this device.
The Live Music Plus feature highlights musical sounds and makes this model particularly interesting for users with high sound sensitivity. Fine details are also well captured – but only within the available bandwidth up to 8 kHz.

The majority of hearing aids automatically adapt to their environment. However, it can sometimes be very practical to make adjustments oneself. After all, the hearing aid does not know how one is feeling at the moment. We looked into the control options that the Entra B 20 MNR T offers: First, we discovered a button directly on the hearing aid. This is very useful, as it is the simplest and fastest way to make a change. The volume can be adjusted through it, and different hearing programs can also be activated. If one prefers not to adjust anything directly at the ear, the button can naturally be deactivated. Those who are not fond of touching their ear to increase the volume will appreciate the optional remote control. This allows for convenient and discreet adjustments to the hearing aid.
We are always pleased when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional feature. For example, we would have liked to see voice control at this point. But such a feature is not currently available in the Entra B 20 MNR T. Tap Control would also have been an interesting function. With this, one could change the function with a quick tap on the ear. However, that is not yet offered in the Entra B 20 MNR T.
In the App Store, we also found a suitable application from Bernafon. The app for the Entra B 20 MNR T may not be one of our highlights, but it has everything needed for hearing systems. Problems with smartphone calls are a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are completely transmitted wirelessly to the hearing aids. Headphones become unnecessary with this. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as for listening to music while exercising. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a suitable smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is required.

Some people find it difficult to get used to it, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to adapt to the new volume. There is a familiarization manager that gradually introduces us to the necessary target amplification. The period can last a few weeks or even several months; this is individually adjustable. The individual steps are so small that one does not even notice that there was an increase in volume.
The Entra B 20 MNR T is not rechargeable. It is powered by hearing aid batteries size 312. Disadvantage: The batteries are disposed of after use. Advantage: There is no daily need to recharge batteries, and the hearing aid runs for several days continuously on a single battery.
With IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse conditions. Dust cannot penetrate, it can withstand longer submersion in water, and it is also protected against touch.

The audiologist can then adjust the settings accordingly and load them into the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long commute, this is a great service.
Many hearing aids still come with some health-related functions today. However, since the Entra B 20 MNR T does not have any special sensors for this, we cannot present any particular features.
