A classic noise suppression feature is intended to reduce annoying background noises to a bearable level. The AQ jam XC Pro 7 R includes a remarkable and well-functioning noise reduction system. Wind is another issue that can limit hearing comfort outdoors. However, the AQ jam XC Pro 7 R handles it confidently by activating wind noise suppression in such situations. By the way, this feature is adjustable in stages.

The simplest control option is always a button directly on the hearing aid. This one has that too. It can be programmed according to your preferences. Do you want manual volume control? No problem, the button allows for a step-by-step adjustment of the volume. Or do you need different special programs for your professional life or hobbies? These can also be activated using the button. Those who want to leave everything in automatic mode can simply ignore the button or even have it deactivated. A very practical option is the small remote control, which is available optionally. For us, it’s one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid’s volume or switch to another hearing program. No one notices, and reaching for the ear is not necessary.
The modern form of operation via voice command is not yet found in the AQ jam XC Pro 7 R. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is tap control. This means you simply tap your fingers on your ear, which triggers a specific function. However, this possibility is not available in this Hansaton device.
The app is definitely very useful. Anyone with a smartphone should download it. Even though the app is not one of our favorites, it is still a helpful addition to the AQ jam XC Pro 7 R. Problems with phone calls using a smartphone are a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are transmitted completely wirelessly to the hearing aids. Headphones become unnecessary. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as for listening to music while exercising. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is required.

This device supports the adaptation to the new hearing sensation with a fully automated acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely balanced. I don't have to do anything other than regularly wear my hearing aids.
The AQ jam XC Pro 7 R is rechargeable and does not require batteries anymore. This is not only environmentally friendly but also very convenient to handle and frees me from the burden of constantly thinking about battery supply.
With an IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand various adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it withstands prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.
The Comfort Charger also serves as a transport case. An additional bonus is the detachable power bank, which can recharge the hearing aids up to 7 times.

Finally, we want to know if the hearing aid maybe offers some specials: A special tinnitus program can be programmed upon request in the AQ jam XC Pro 7 R. This allows for the generation of stimulating, pleasant sounds that distract from the tinnitus when it is particularly strong. We find this very useful and are happy to give extra points.
A very good additional benefit is provided by the remote maintenance option. Through the app, you can contact your hearing care professional and describe your hearing problem. They can then adjust the settings accordingly and upload them to the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long travel distance, this is a great service.
A new trend in the hearing aid industry is integrated sensors, which can track some personal health data, for example. However, the AQ jam XC Pro 7 R does not offer this feature. This Hansaton hearing aid does not have any additional lifestyle options. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but for good hearing, these are not necessary. It would have just made the product a bit cooler.
