Hearing comfort

We all agree that speech understanding is the most important task of hearing aids. However, from our experience in the hearing acoustics specialty store, we also know that hearing comfort is at least equally important. It is about processing background noises in such a way that they do not restrict speech understanding while still creating a natural sound image. For our digital everyday life, a streaming option would be great. The device in question fulfills our wish and comes with a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows you to stream phone calls and sounds directly from your smartphone to the hearing aids.

Let's continue with the test: How is the user-friendliness? Is it easy or complicated to handle the hearing aid? The Beat FS 5 R T 675 features a solid everyday automatic that is likely sufficient for a quieter life. However, for more complex hearing environments, we recommend the additional manual programs. We award a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It raises the starting volume in very small increments until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.

The Beat FS 5 R T 675 is not equipped with a rechargeable battery, so it cannot be charged. It is powered by a size 675 hearing aid battery. It needs to be replaced every few days.

The data sheet certifies the Hansaton device with an IP protection class of 68. This makes it one of the most robust hearing aids on the market. Dust has no chance, and water does not penetrate the casing as long as it does not submerge deeper than 1.5 m. However, be cautious. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid saltwater. In everyday life, though, you can behave completely carefree.

A very good additional benefit is provided by the remote maintenance option. Through the app, you can contact your audiologist and describe your hearing problem. They can adjust the settings accordingly and load them into the hearing aids via the app. For people with limited time or a long commute, this is a great service.

There are no sensors in this Beat FS 5 variant, so the popular health tracking cannot be offered. For example, steps are counted throughout the day. As mentioned, this hearing aid does not have this function. It also forgoes additional features like special assistance systems, a fall alarm, or a speech translator. This is not a significant issue, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
