We found an impressive 24 equalizer bands in the Real 1 mini Ex R. In each band, the hearing aid activates its sound management, filtering out the disturbing elements while retaining important speech components. Sound adjustments can be made purposefully and accurately. We are very satisfied with this. Especially with sharp or steeply falling hearing curves, such a hearing aid can be very useful.

A remote control is available for the Real 1 mini Ex R. It’s quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume option as well as various hearing programs.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but unfortunately, this one from Oticon cannot yet. This would be practical if your fingers are not as agile anymore or if you simply like smart gadgets. Tap Control would have been an interesting feature as well. With that, you could change the function with a quick tap on the ear. But that isn’t available in the Real 1 mini Ex R yet.
Our favorite tool for hearing aids is the app, and we really like this one. In addition to the mandatory volume controls, there’s also an option for sound processing. This significantly expands the potential of the Real 1 mini Ex R and provides relief when listening becomes tiring again. We had a lot of fun with direct, wireless streaming. This means that calls from the smartphone are transferred to the hearing aids without any additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and hearing videos is also incredibly comfortable.

We were completely convinced by the Real 1 mini Ex R with its top-notch situation recognition. The hearing aid seamlessly adapts to the acoustic environment and requires almost no intervention from us. Hearing feels completely normal. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is reached. We can relax and gradually get accustomed to the new hearing impressions.
Easy handling in everyday life definitely includes the power supply. The Real 1 mini Ex R has a built-in battery and is rechargeable. Since one charge is sufficient for the entire day, we don't have to worry about the battery running out in the middle of a conversation.
We also take a look at the robustness of the housing and find the protection class IP 68 in the data sheet. This means that dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes dangerous after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.
