With 24, this Philips device is a true top model and allows for nuanced fine-tuning over several years.

The modern form of voice command operation is not yet found in the HearLink 9050 MNR T R. In our tests, we were quite impressed by the tap control. Just tap your ear briefly, and your Philips hearing aid knows it should do something. We were already familiar with this sensor-controlled technology from wireless headphones, and it's great that there is something like this now in hearing aids.

An app is the perfect companion for hearing aids. The app for the HearLink 9050 MNR T R is absolutely impressive. It is a sensible addition because, in critical listening situations, you can make life a lot easier with the various adjustment options. You no longer need headphones here, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from the smartphone to your ears – provided the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

We continue the test with a brief assessment of how easy everyday use will be. Is it complicated? Do I need to be especially careful? Or do I have to pay no further attention? Ideally, the hearing aid should work largely independently. In this regard, the performance of the HearLink 9050 MNR T R is exceptionally good. It has a large number of typical listening situations stored, which the device recognizes autonomously and always generates the appropriate setting. An important aspect of simplicity for us is the support during the adjustment period. Especially after having heard poorly for years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device features an acclimatization manager that helps us through the adjustment phase with very small volume adjustments. After a few weeks or months, we have then reached the calculated amplification level.

Easy handling in everyday life definitely includes the power supply. The HearLink 9050 MNR T R has a built-in rechargeable battery. Since a single charge is sufficient for the entire day, we don't have to worry about the battery running out in the middle of a conversation.

With an IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it withstands prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.

Am Ende unseres Testberichtes gibt es noch ein bisschen Platz für die Extra-Features: Philips hat einen Geräuschgenerator integriert, der für Tinnitus-Geplagte ein paar lindernde Klänge abspielt. Das kann vom Tinnitus ablenken und für etwas mehr Entspannung sorgen.

Spannend finden wir den Fernwartungsdienst, den man in Anspruch nehmen kann. Wenn man keine Gelegenheit hat, zum Hörakustiker zu fahren, kontaktiert man ihn stattdessen über die App, beschreibt kurz sein Hörproblem und erhält anschließend ein Datenpaket mit einer neuen Hörgerätkonfiguration. Wenn die sich gut anhört, lädt man sie in seine Hörgeräte.  

Manche Hörgeräte können bestimmte Gesundheitsdaten tracken. Allerdings braucht es dazu spezielle Sensoren im Hörgerät, die wir beim HearLink 9050 MNR T R leider nicht haben.  Dann gibt es noch ein paar Lifestyle-Funktionen, die Ihr Hörgerät zu einem smarten Assistent machen. Lassen Sie sich mit Sprachassistenten wie Siri verbinden, oder entdecken Sie, was noch alles in der App steckt. Das hat zwar nicht mehr viel mit dem eigentlichen Hören zu tun, kann aber äußerst nützlich sein.
