Phonak presents the Virto Marvel 90 312 NW O, a model from the premium segment. It can compensate for mild to moderate hearing loss. It is a small hearing aid that delivers good sound due to the sound exit close to the eardrum. It is worn in the ear.

Let's take a look at the connectivity and usability of the Virto Marvel 90 312 NW O. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the Virto Marvel 90 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. Those who don’t like touching their ear to adjust the volume will appreciate the optional remote control. This allows for convenient and discreet adjustments to the hearing aid.

In the test, we found no option for voice control. This feature is not necessarily required, but we would have liked it nonetheless. This Phonak model does not support control of the hearing aids with a simple tap, as specific sensors would have been needed in the housing for that.

We searched in the app store in vain for an app for further adjustments, which we would have preferred. Unfortunately, wireless connection options are completely lacking in this variant. This is somewhat outdated, but probably due to the small size of the hearing aid.

It provides me with the perfect setting at all times, without me having to do anything actively. Especially during varied phases, this is extremely convenient and makes me almost forget the hearing aid in my ear. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This makes getting used to the new sound considerably easier.

Unfortunately, the Virto Marvel 90 312 NW O is not equipped with a rechargeable battery, so regular size 312 batteries are needed for operation.

For a secure everyday feeling, a solid dust and moisture protection is also important. However, there is no IP certification available. Presumably, this model is not really well-equipped against incoming dust or moisture. This is not up-to-date and results in a deduction of points.
