The Signia Pure 2 AX 312 in review
Diese Technik ist bereits etwas veraltet und erhält daher einen Abzug in der Gesamtbewertung. Neuer und besser ist der aktuelle Signia IX-Chip.
Could this hearing aid from the Signia program be the right choice for you? In our review of the Pure 2 AX 312, we have illuminated the key aspects. We have a small-sized hearing aid from a solid mid-range price category that is worn behind the ear. The direct placement of the speaker in the ear canal lays the foundation for good hearing success, as the sound has only a very short distance to travel to the eardrum. This ensures that all sounds arrive exactly where we want them.
The Pure 2 AX 312 provides sufficient amplification for moderate, stronger, and fluctuating hearing losses.
Hearing comfort
In the hearing comfort section, we look at how a hearing aid handles all the background noises. Comfortable noise management significantly contributes to a user liking and regularly wearing their hearing aids. In this Signia device, we found only a few options to influence comfort. The regular noise suppression is designed to reduce consistent, noise-like background sounds. In the Pure 2 AX 312, we had hoped for a bit more control, but – well.
The impulse sound management is relatively simple; it slightly dampens short loud sounds, which is okay. Wind noise can sometimes become a problem outdoors. Therefore, a moderate wind noise management system is integrated here. We cannot create true 3D spatial sound with the current test device. Especially outdoors, one should frequently look around to identify where individual sound sources are located. However, focusing on a specific speaker works quite well thanks to the integrated directional microphones. The number of equalizer bands is very important for adapting to hearing needs. The 312 only provides us with 8, which does not allow for many long-term fine-tuning options.
Despite modern comfort features, tricky hearing situations can still arise. For this, the Pure 2 AX 312 has an assistance mode in its app. Behind this is artificial intelligence that analyzes the current environment and calculates a noticeably better setting.

Operation & connectivity
How can you fully utilize the potential of hearing aids in daily life? We found out what access options are available with the Pure 2 AX 312. For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume up or down, there is a button on the device. You can also select additional programs for special hearing situations through it. If desired, there is a remote control for the hearing aid. This allows for effortless volume adjustment. The handling is not only incredibly easy, but no one will notice that you are currently adjusting your hearing aids.
Voice commands are a relatively new way of operating hearing aids. However, in this model, we do not have this option yet. That’s not a big deal - the main thing is that you can hear well. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is a tap control. You simply tap your ear with your fingers, which triggers a specific function. But this feature is not available in this Signia device.
It is very convenient to adjust the hearing aids via the app. There is also a free app for the Pure 2 AX 312. In our opinion, the range of functions is average, but mostly sufficient. It’s best to try it out in demo mode beforehand. The Pure 2 AX comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows for binaural phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over people with normal hearing. We find that great and are happy to give points.

Simplicity & security
Usability is the next aspect we want to address. This is about everyday practicality and the question of how easy and safe it is to go through life with a hearing aid. The Pure 2 AX 312 can independently differentiate between quiet and loud environments, but there isn't much more to the program automation. Manual adjustment options are hardly optional here. Some people have difficulty getting used to it, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to cope with the new volume. There is a fitting manager that gradually introduces us to the required target amplification. The duration can range from a few weeks to several months, and it is individually adjustable. The individual steps are so small that you hardly notice that there has been a volume increase.
The Pure 2 AX 312 is not rechargeable. It continues to get its power from disposable size 312 batteries, which need to be changed every few days.
The hearing aid has been rated to IP protection class 68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against dust ingress. Water also cannot easily harm the hearing aid. This makes it well equipped for outdoor activities, where it can get wet and dirty. However, do not necessarily go bathing or swimming with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can change the composition and may ultimately cause damage.

Extras
Sometimes hearing aids have additional features that can be quite useful. Let's see how it is with this Signia device: Signia has integrated a noise generator that plays soothing sounds for those suffering from tinnitus. This can help distract from the tinnitus and provide a bit more relaxation.
A real added value is the remote service. To change the hearing aid settings, you no longer necessarily have to go to the specialist store, but can directly contact the audiologist via the app. Through a cloud service, you can then load the new data package into the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
If Signia had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, individual health tracking could even be possible. However, this is not the case here. These points lead to a loss in the rating for the Pure 2 AX 312. The hearing aid also lacks additional features such as special assistance systems, a fall alarm, or language translators. This is not a big issue, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.

Conclusion: Signia Pure 2 AX 312
