The Signia Pure 2 X 312 in review
Dieses Hörgerät ist nun schon etwas älter und wurde von Signia AX abgelöst. Für die fehlende Aktualität haben wir eine Abwertung der Gesamtnote vorgenommen.
What hearing comfort does the Pure 2 X 312 offer? How is it operated? Is it worth the investment? You will find answers to these questions in our review of this hearing aid from Signia. First, the basics: It is worn behind the ear, and due to the comfortable position of the speaker in the ear canal, sound can easily travel toward the eardrum. This is important because it is the only way to produce a really good, wide-range sound.
The Pure 2 X 312 is a small hearing aid from a solid mid-price range that can cover nearly any hearing need. Read more details:
Hearing comfort
Hearing comfort determines whether someone enjoys wearing their hearing aids or not. That's why we first looked at how the hearing aid handles background noise. With this model, which Signia presents to us, we found only a few options for influencing comfort. Of course, noise suppression is integrated to mitigate exhausting background sounds. In the Pure 2 X 312, we hoped for a bit more adjustment depth, but – well. When it comes to wind noise suppression, we are dealing with a relatively simple wind dampener.
Sharp sounds are likely cushioned, but we didn't really notice the effect. We are far from experiencing 3D surround sound here. Only the switchable forward focus provides a little hearing support in company. The number of equalizer bands is very important for adapting to hearing needs. The 312 only provides 8 and does not allow for many fine-tuning options in the long run.
Despite modern comfort features, tricky hearing situations can still arise. For that, the Pure 2 X 312 has an assistance mode in its app. Behind this is an artificial intelligence that analyzes the current environment and calculates a noticeably better setting.
Rating Hearing comfort: 4,2
Operation & connectivity
The controls for hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as one might wish. The basic functions operate fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how users can further access the Pure 2 X 312. There is a button directly on the hearing aid. This allows you to adjust the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to customer preferences. The use is, of course, optional. A remote control is available for the Pure 2 X 312. It is quite practical, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume up-down option as well as various hearing programs.
We are always pleased when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional feature. For instance, we would have liked to see a voice control at this point. However, there is none available for the Pure 2 X 312 at the moment. Tap Control would have been an interesting feature as well. With it, you could change the function with a quick tap on your ear. But this feature is also not present in the Pure 2 X 312 yet.
As is common today, we also find a smartphone app for the Pure 2 X 312. This app includes solid basic functions and adds a few nice extras. You no longer need headphones here, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from the smartphone to your ears – provided the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

Simplicity & security
Next in the test: How about the user-friendliness? Is it easy or complicated to handle the hearing aid? Unfortunately, the Pure 2 X 312 does not have a powerful situational automation feature. We have to settle for a few standard settings. Active hearing aid users will certainly encounter limitations here. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.
We regret that the Pure 2 X 312 does not have a rechargeable battery, but instead operates with hearing aid batteries of size 312. This is not overly problematic, but one should remember to carry spare batteries. On the other hand: This hearing aid does not need to be charged daily; it can run for a long time on one battery.
With an IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand various adverse conditions. Dust cannot penetrate, it can withstand prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,5
Extras
Before we reach the end, let's take a look at the extras: We noticed the tinnitus option here. Those who wish can set up a special tinnitus program. This gently plays soothing noise to distract from the annoying tinnitus. The sounds can be customized according to personal hearing preferences.
We find the remote maintenance service exciting that can be utilized. If one doesn't have the opportunity to visit the audiologist, they can instead contact them via the app, briefly describe their hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, they can upload it to their hearing aids.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires specific sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the Pure 2 X 312. The device from Signia focuses on essential hearing functions and does not offer extras like voice assistants or translation features. While that would have been fun, it is not necessary for a good hearing experience.

Conclusion: Signia Pure 2 X 312
In the overall results, this test device ranks towards the bottom and is missing some features. We give it a score of 4.24. This is acceptable for undemanding listeners, but for a very active lifestyle, we recommend a hearing aid with more extensive comfort features.
