The clear sound transmission is achieved through the discreet and simultaneously intelligent outsourcing of the speaker into the ear canal.

What is most annoying to hearing aid users: Exactly, the background noise. That's why we'll first take a look at which comfort features the test device includes. In the Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC, we found very few options for influencing comfort. A normal noise suppression is definitely present. It is supposed to dampen constant sounds like street noise or the hum of the air conditioning. In our test device from Signia, the effectiveness of the noise suppression is slightly above the required minimum. Nevertheless, the noises will still be noticeable.

The Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC also has impulse sound suppression. It reliably detects all short, clattering noises, but the damping is rather minimal. For active outdoor fans, we always find wind noise management sensible. While this device does have one, it is not very powerful. It cannot be individually adjusted either. A decent basis for programming the Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC is provided by the 12 equalizer bands. As sound junkies, we would prefer a few more, but for the typical situations we encounter in our daily lives, a reasonable sound profile can already be created from them. A true 3D spatial sound cannot be generated with the current test device. Particularly outdoors, one should often look around to identify the locations of individual sound sources. However, focusing on a specific speaker works quite well through the integrated directional microphones.

If the hearing comfort is ever insufficient for you, you can make additional, personalized settings in the app. There is a special mode that uses artificial intelligence. This allows countless real sound data to be used to help you effectively and purposefully.

Basically, the hearing aids operate fully automatically, and this is also the mode that most people prefer. However, it can be quite useful to switch to another hearing program or simply adjust the volume in a difficult situation. Therefore, let's take a brief look at the control options of the Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC. First, we are interested in whether there is a button on the device. Unfortunately, with the Slim RIC, we are disappointed; there is no immediate adjustment option. A remote control is available for the Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC. It is quite practical, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume option as well as different hearing programs.

For some time now, there has been a trend to adjust hearing aids louder or quieter using voice commands. The idea is really good, but Signia has not reached that point with this device yet. Don’t worry, this feature would be nice, but it is dispensable. There is no control of the hearing aids with a simple tap in this Signia model, as it would have required certain sensors in the housing.

It is very convenient to adjust the hearing aids via the app. There is a free app available for the Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC as well. In our opinion, the range of functions is mediocre, but mostly sufficient. It is best to try it out in demo mode beforehand. The Styletto 2 IX comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows us to enjoy binaural phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over normal hearing individuals. We find this good and are happy to give points.

Continuing with the test: How is the user-friendliness? Is it easy or complicated to handle the hearing aid? Unfortunately, there is no powerful situation automatic in the Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC. We have to settle for a few standard settings. Active hearing aid users will certainly reach their limits here. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and gradually acclimatize to the new hearing impressions.

The Styletto 2 IX Slim RIC comes with a charger, as it has built-in batteries. This is contemporary, user-friendly, and it's what we expect from a modern hearing aid.

We experienced a carefree daily life in our test due to the IP-68 certification. This indicates that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and then took out the hearing aids with wet hands - no problem at all. However, the water resistance really only refers to fresh, natural water and not soapy bathwater or saltwater.

Those troubled by bothersome ear noises will benefit from it. Pleasant, soft sounds are adjusted to gently surround the tinnitus. In the end, the tinnitus fades into the background noise and is no longer bothersome at all.

The remote control feature is something we really like. It is very helpful whenever someone wants to change just a small setting on the hearing aid but doesn't want to drive to the audiologist. Instead, contact is made through the app, and the hearing professional sends back a customized data package in the same way.

This Styletto 2 IX variant does not have sensors, so the popular health tracking cannot be offered. For example, the steps taken throughout the day are counted. As mentioned - this hearing aid does not have this function on board. This Signia hearing aid does not have any additional lifestyle options either. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but for good hearing, you don't really need that. It would have just made the product a bit cooler.
