The full product name is Styletto 5 IX Slim RIC, and it belongs to the top-tier category of devices. By placing the small speaker in the ear canal, it has good acoustic properties. The Styletto 5 IX Slim RIC is worn behind the ear, and it is a fine little hearing aid for mild to profound hearing loss.

The app also includes a special help feature based on artificial intelligence. With it, you can find a very personal setting for your hearing aids, which significantly improves hearing comfort in a specific moment or typical situation.

Operation & connectivity
Since you probably don't have your audiologist by your side all the time, it's quite helpful to be able to make changes to the hearing aid yourself. There are various operating options, and we will look at which ones the Styletto 5 IX Slim RIC has. First, we are interested in whether there is a button on the device. Unfortunately, we are disappointed in that regard with the Slim RIC, as there is no immediate adjustment option. Upon request, there is a remote control for the hearing aid. This allows you to adjust the volume effortlessly. The handling is not only child’s play, but no one will notice that you are currently adjusting your hearing aids.
In the test, we did not find any option for voice control. This function is not necessarily required, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. There is no operation of the hearing aids with a simple fingertip in this Signia model, as it would have required certain sensors in the housing.
In our opinion, an app is better than a remote control since everyone likely has a smartphone in their pocket. The app for the Styletto 5 IX Slim RIC is really good; it has a lot of clever features that make hearing in difficult situations significantly easier. It is quite complex, but you can quickly find your way around. You can practice in demo mode. There are also a few surprising additional tools – have fun exploring! A streaming option would not be bad for our digital everyday life. The current device fulfills our wish and comes with a 2.4 GHz wireless module. This allows you to send phone calls and sounds directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.

Especially after having heard poorly for years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. In our test device, there is an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adjustment phase. After a few weeks or months, we have reached the calculated amplification level.
The Styletto 5 IX Slim RIC is rechargeable and no longer requires hearing aid batteries. This is environmentally friendly, as there are no old batteries to dispose of. At the same time, it is also extremely convenient because there is no need to carry spare batteries. The hearing aids simply go into the charging station in the evening and are ready for use the next morning.
The data sheet certifies the Signia device with an IP protection class 68. This makes it one of the most resilient hearing aids on the market. Dust stands no chance, and water does not penetrate the housing as long as it does not submerge deeper than 1.5 m. Nevertheless, be careful. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid saltwater. However, in everyday life, you can behave completely carefree.

The tinnitus program in the Styletto 5 IX Slim RIC is essentially just a sound generator. It aims to produce broad-spectrum noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus fades into the background and is no longer perceived as annoying.
