While it lacks instruments for spatial hearing, we still give it full marks. Spatial hearing is maintained because the hearing aid sits directly in the ear canal. This is a real advantage of this particular small design. We found a proud 24 equalizer bands in the Signature Series 24 CIC R NW. In each band, the hearing aid activates its sound management, filters out the disturbing parts, and retains important speech components. Tonal adjustments can be targeted and precise. We are very satisfied with that. Especially with sharp or steeply falling hearing curves, such a hearing aid can be very useful. By the way, you might perceive the sound from this Starkey device as clearer and more natural, especially in noisy situations. This is probably due to the implemented artificial intelligence. The hearing aid has already been trained with millions of real sounds, leading to significantly improved distinction between speech and noise.

Especially after having heard poorly for years, it can sometimes be hard to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device includes an acclimatization manager that helps us through the adjustment phase with very small volume adjustments. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
The Signature Series 24 CIC R NW is rechargeable and no longer requires batteries. This is not only environmentally friendly but also very convenient in handling, freeing me from the burden of constantly thinking about battery supplies.
The specifications certify the Starkey device with an IP rating of 68. This makes it one of the most robust hearing aids on the market. Dust has no chance, and water does not enter the housing unless submerged deeper than 1.5 meters. However, be cautious. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid saltwater. In everyday life, however, you can behave completely carefree.
