Unitron is launching a conventional hearing aid from the premium category with its B Stride 9 UP. It is a standard, medium-sized hearing aid for moderate to severe hearing needs and is worn behind the ear.

The comfort features determine how pleasant everyday listening experiences are. In this hearing aid, the manufacturer provides the customer with comprehensive sound management. A classic noise suppression aims to reduce annoying background noises to a tolerable level. The B Stride 9 UP incorporates effective noise reduction. It operates at a high performance level and offers the user very good comfort. The B Stride 9 UP is equipped with an incredibly good wind detection system. Nothing stands in the way of a walk by the sea.
Once you've experienced impulse sound suppression in a hearing aid, you don't want to give it up. The B Stride 9 UP has such a feature and can effortlessly handle all short and intense sound events. A very quick way to adjust the volume is through the small button on the device. It is easy to feel, and you can increase or decrease the volume in several steps. Additional programs for specific hearing situations can also be activated with it. If someone wants to do without the button, they can simply have it deactivated. A remote control is available for the B Stride 9 UP. It is quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume control option as well as various hearing programs.
Voice commands are a rather new way of operating hearing aids. However, we do not have this option in this model yet. That's not a big deal – the main thing is that you can hear well. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, a tap control could be conceivable, which would trigger a specific function by tapping your fingers on your ear. However, this option is not available in the B Stride 9 UP.
It is very convenient to adjust the hearing aids via the app. There is also a free app for the B Stride 9 UP. In our opinion, the range of functions is mediocre, but it is usually sufficient. It’s best to try it out in demo mode beforehand. Headphones are no longer necessary here, as it has a wireless option and can directly transmit sounds from the smartphone to the ears – if the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

The situational automation of the B Stride 9 UP includes nearly everything one might experience in daily life. It provides me with the perfect setting at all times, without requiring me to do anything active. Especially in varying situations, this is extremely convenient and allows me to almost forget that I have the hearing aid in my ear. Some people find it difficult to adjust, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to manage the new volume. There is an acclimatization manager that gradually leads us to the required target amplification. The duration can be a few weeks or even several months, and it can be individually adjusted. The individual steps are so small that one hardly notices that there has just been a volume increase.
Many hearing aids today have a rechargeable battery, but the B Stride 9 UP still operates with disposable batteries. This is somewhat cumbersome to handle and also burdens the environment.
With an IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it can endure prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.

It can provide a gentle noise in the ears to distract a bit from the annoying tinnitus, if needed. The sounds can be tailored to personal hearing preferences.
A real added value is the remote maintenance service. You no longer have to go to the specialist store for a change in hearing aid settings; instead, you can directly contact your audiologist via the app. Through a cloud service, you can then load the new data package into the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
Tracking health data is a real benefit in modern hearing aids. However, this Unitron model lacks the sensors for this service. This Unitron hearing aid does not have any additional lifestyle options. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but they are not necessary for good hearing. It would have just made the product a bit cooler.
