It is a small hearing aid, and it is priced in a solid mid-range. It can be used for moderate, more severe, and changing hearing losses. Let's take a look at what the inside has to offer:
Hearing comfort
Hearing aids should not only bring speech to the ear but also sound pleasant. So let’s first look at the comfort features. What types of noise does the hearing aid recognize? Are they dampened or transmitted unchanged? Is the hearing aid suitable for a lively everyday life? Here with this test device, we find only the absolute essentials regarding hearing comfort. As in every hearing aid, there is also the typical noise cancellation. It is supposed to reduce uniform, roaring background noises to the extent that they do not dominate anymore. With the Moment 110 BTE 312, we shouldn’t expect too much. Speech and sounds are quite close together here. But in acoustically simple situations, that should be sufficient.
Wind noise is another topic. Many enjoy being outside and are then somewhat disturbed by the wind. Unfortunately, there is no wind management here, so one simply has to endure the sounds of air movements. As for the number of adjustable equalizer bands, we are dealing with 6 on a rather simple device. Of course, one can understand, but the sound is not as we would actually wish. We miss a natural spatial hearing with this device, which does create some difficulties in everyday life. Directions can no longer be reliably recognized. Those with limited vision should rather consider another hearing aid.

We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This allows for discreet small adjustments to the volume or sound quality.
The modern form of operation via voice command is not yet available in the Moment 110 BTE 312. In addition to buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids still have a tap control feature. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and the device switches. However, we do not have this feature at Widex as it would have required specific sensors.
A very typical operating option today is apps for smartphones. The Moment 110 BTE 312 also has an app. This allows for intuitive volume adjustments or program changes. You can't go too wrong with it; there isn't much more to it. The hearing aid can also be used as a headset and requires a small additional device for that. In a quieter daily routine, one can manage well, but as soon as you have a varied listening experience, you can’t avoid manual adjustments. The adaptation to the new hearing sensation is supported by this device with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely compensated. I don't have to do anything other than wear my hearing aids regularly.
The Moment 110 BTE 312 is not rechargeable. It is powered by hearing aid batteries size 312. Disadvantage: The batteries are disposed of after use. Advantage: Daily recharging of batteries is not necessary; the hearing aid runs continuously for several days on a single battery.
We had a carefree daily life in our test due to the IP-68 certification. This indicates that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and then took out the hearing aids with wet hands - all was no problem. However, the water resistance is really only applicable to fresh, natural water and not to foamy bath water or saltwater.
