With this model, presented to us by Audio Service, a solid comfort programming by the hearing care professional is possible. Of course, noise suppression is integrated to mitigate exhausting background noises. We are satisfied with the effectiveness of the noise suppression in the G6 16 Quix. It can not only be switched on or off but also adjusted in stages. While a slightly stronger wind reduction would be desirable, the wind reduction in the G6 16 Quix is quite acceptable.
The noise filter in this hearing aid is quite solid and suitable for everyday use. The G6 16 Quix impresses us with its natural, spatial hearing. The outer ear maintains its function, so the 3D sensation is just as if you weren’t wearing a hearing aid at all. For a precise, realistic listening experience, the number of adjustable frequency bands is of great importance. With 20, this Audio Service device is a true top model and allows for nuanced fine-tuning over several years.
An exciting topic in hearing acoustics is the use of artificial intelligence, but this is not yet applied in this Audio Service model.

Operation & connectivity
Most hearing aids automatically adjust to their surroundings. Nevertheless, it is sometimes very practical to be able to change something yourself. After all, the hearing aid doesn't know how you are feeling at the moment. We looked at the operating options that the G6 16 Quix has to offer: There is no control element directly on the hearing aid. For reasons of space, a button is sometimes omitted. If desired, there is a remote control for the hearing aid. This allows you to effortlessly adjust the volume. The handling is not only child’s play, but no one will notice that you are adjusting your hearing aids.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but this one from Audio Service unfortunately cannot yet. It would be practical when fingers are not as flexible anymore or if you simply like smart gadgets. Some hearing aids can also be operated with a quick tap of a finger without having to press an extra button. However, this feature is not yet implemented here.
Audio Service offers a suitable app for easier operation. However, it is not particularly well-equipped and hardly goes beyond the basic functions like volume up/down and hearing programs. Unfortunately, wireless connectivity options are completely absent in this version. This is no longer very modern, but is likely due to the small size of the hearing aid.

Another point on our checklist is handling. Does everything work easily and reliably? What does the hearing aid offer to ensure safe use in everyday life? In the G6 16 Quix, we experienced an effective automatic situational adjustment that supports our hearing well. This already ensures that we don't have to constantly readjust something on the hearing aid. Very important to us in terms of simplicity is the support during the adjustment period. Especially after years of hearing poorly, it is sometimes hard to perceive everything at a natural volume. In our test device, there is an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adjustment phase. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
G6 16 Quix relies on battery power instead of rechargeable batteries. Advantage: Very long runtime with one battery. Unlike rechargeable solutions, you rarely have to worry about the power supply. Disadvantage: Waste is generated in the form of used batteries. This hearing aid uses a hearing aid battery size 10.
Hearing aids are exposed to external influences. However, this model does not have any special coating against moisture or dust. This is unusual nowadays and surprises us. Optimal care is therefore essential.

Sometimes, there are additional features in hearing aids that can be quite useful. Let's see how it is with this Audio Service device: Noteworthy is the tinnitus program. Those troubled by bothersome ear noises will benefit from it. Pleasant, quiet sounds are set to gently surround the tinnitus. In the end, the tinnitus fades into the background noise and becomes hardly noticeable.
In mobile times like these, a remote service via an app would be very helpful. This would allow for a new hearing aid programming to be created conveniently from home. Unfortunately, this service is not available for the G6 16 Quix. Therefore, for any change requests, one still has to visit the specialist store.
If Audio Service had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, individual health tracking could even be possible. However, this is not the case here. These points are a loss for the G6 16 Quix in the evaluation. The functionality of the G6 16 Quix is limited to normal hearing, which is perfectly fine. Additional features like fall alert or Siri connections add a decent value but are not relevant for good auditory balance.
