In our test, we did not find any option for voice control. This feature is not necessarily required, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. Now it gets really modern: With tap control, the Beltone hearing aid can be easily switched. Sensors in the casing detect the touch when you briefly tap your ear with your fingers. And what exactly happens next is determined together with your audiologist. For example, you can activate voice control or switch to a special program.
Adjusting loudness or special functions via an app is already widespread today, and the Serene 6 62S-DRWC follows this path by providing us with an app. This app offers far more than just hearing aid functions and gives us a glimpse of what hearing aids could be used for in the future - beyond just good hearing. You no longer need headphones, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from the smartphone to your ears - as long as the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

We continue our test and explore how easy this hearing aid is to handle. After all, it should simplify the everyday life of hearing aid users rather than complicate it further. Hearing is greatly facilitated by good situational awareness. In the Serene 6 62S-DRWC, we found a fairly solid automatic mode that handles the most common hearing situations well. This might be sufficient if the acoustic conditions are not too challenging. Some people have difficulty getting used to it, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to adapt to the new volume. There is an habituation manager that gradually brings us to the required target amplification. The period can last a few weeks or even several months, and it can be adjusted individually. The individual steps are so small that one hardly notices that there was a volume increase.
The Serene 6 62S-DRWC is rechargeable and no longer requires hearing aid batteries. This is environmentally friendly, as there are no old batteries to dispose of. At the same time, it is also extremely convenient, as no spare batteries need to be carried. The hearing aids simply go into the charging station in the evening and are ready for use the next morning.
We also take a look at the robustness of the casing and discover the protection class IP 68 in the data sheet. This prevents dust from entering at all, and water only becomes dangerous after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.
