Ideally, everyone would only want to hear speech and filter out all other sounds. However, it’s not that simple. Without sounds, our lives would sound very thin and empty. Therefore, hearing aids are designed to keep sounds in check, but not make them disappear.
With the Serene 9 Akku ITE, the manufacturer provides customers with comprehensive noise management. The mandatory noise suppression is supposed to activate for anything that hums in a reasonably consistent manner, such as the heating system or the extractor hood. In this device, ambient noise is processed in such a way that relaxed listening is possible.
A fairly solid wind management feature is available in the Serene 9 Akku ITE and should suffice for everyday use. Short, loud noises are quickly recognized and effectively reduced, thanks to a controllable impulse sound damper. We are satisfied with the spatial functions. The hearing aid has adaptive microphones that support spatial hearing very well. With 14 frequency bands, you can achieve quite a good sound. A passionate musician may not be completely satisfied with this, but for normal hearing and sound needs, this number is completely sufficient.
Sometimes we encounter hearing aids that are very successful at processing data with the help of artificial intelligence, but that is not yet the case with this device.

Operation & connectivity
Digital hearing aids have long evolved beyond the standard amplification function. Apps and other control options significantly expand their functionality, which is why we will also examine this important topic with the Serene 9 Akku ITE from Beltone. For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume, there is a button on the device. Additional programs for special hearing situations can also be selected through this. Those who prefer not to touch their ear to adjust the volume will appreciate the optional remote control. This allows for convenient and discreet adjustments to the hearing aid.
In our test, we did not find any voice control option. This feature is not necessarily required, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. Some hearing aids can be controlled with a simple tap of the finger without having to press a button. However, this feature is not yet implemented here.
The operation of the Serene 9 Akku ITE via the associated app is relatively simple. It offers a lot of additional functions and impressed us quite a bit. We particularly enjoyed using the equalizer in our tests. As a normally hearing person, one might feel a bit envious, as such a feature is not yet found in wireless headphones. Headphones are no longer needed here, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from the smartphone to the ears – provided the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

Wir fahren fort im Test mit einer kurzen Einschätzung, wie einfach die alltägliche Benutzung sein wird. Ist es kompliziert? Muss ich besonders aufpassen? Oder muss ich nichts weiter beachten? Eine zuverlässige Situationsautomatik verschafft dem Serene 9 Akku ITE wichtige Punkte in Sachen Einfachheit. Die meisten Hörsituationen werden gut erkannt, so dass ein manuelles Nachstellen nur selten nötig ist. Die Gewöhnung an das neue Hörgefühl unterstützt dieses Gerät mit einem vollautomatischen Eingewöhnungsmanager. Der passt in kaum spürbaren Schritten die Verstärkung so lange an, bis mein Hörverlust komplett ausgeglichen ist. Ich muss nichts weiter machen als regelmäßig meine Hörgeräte tragen.
Eine große Erleichterung im Alltag ist der integrierte Akku. Damit hat mein Serene 9 Akku ITE immer genug Energie für den ganzen Tag, und ich muss keine Angst mehr haben, dass mitten in einer Veranstaltung die Batterien plötzlich leer sind. Auch bei eingeschränkter Fingerfertigkeit ist ein Akkusystem sehr hilfreich, weil das Einlegen von kleinen Knopfzellen wegfällt.
Mit IP 68-Zertifizierung kann das Hörgerät allerhand widrigen Einflüssen widerstehen. Staub kann nicht eindringen, auch einem längeren Untertauchen in Wasser hält es stand, und gegen Berührungen ist es ebenfalls geschützt.

Wir alle mögen Goodies, dehalb schauen wir als letztes auf die Extras, die im Hörgerät möglicherweise versteckt sind. Beltone hat einen Geräuschgenerator integriert, der für Tinnitus-Geplagte ein paar lindernde Klänge abspielt. Das kann vom Tinnitus ablenken und für etwas mehr Entspannung sorgen.
Beltone geht mit der Zeit und stellt mit dem Remote-Einstellungsservice ein zukunftsorientiertes Feature zur Verfügung. Berufstätige Menschen mit wenig Zeit können online mit ihrem Akustiker Kontakt aufnehmen und ihre Hörgeräte umprogrammieren lassen. Auch Hörgeräteträger, die einen längeren Anfahrtsweg zum Fachgeschäft haben, profitieren von diesem besonderen Service.
Viele Hörgeräte haben heute noch ein paar Gesundheits-Funktionen dabei. Da das Serene 9 Akku ITE aber keine speziellen Sensoren dafür hat, können wir hier keine Besonderheiten vorstellen.
