Here, with this test device, the manufacturer provides the customer with comprehensive noise management. As in every hearing aid, the typical background noise suppression is also included here. It is designed to reduce uniform, ambient noise so that it no longer dominates. The Nexia 9 Akku ITE features one of the most intense noise suppression systems on the market. When this is maximally adjusted, you have a true advantage over normal hearing individuals.
Wind is also a topic that can limit hearing comfort outdoors. But the Nexia 9 Akku ITE handles it confidently and activates wind noise suppression in such situations. By the way, this can be adjusted in stages. Short, loud sounds are quickly recognized and effectively reduced in the Nexia 9 Akku ITE, thanks to an adjustable impulse sound damper. With 17 frequency channels, the Nexia 9 Akku ITE clearly belongs to the better devices and allows for an individual, well-sounding programming. Spatial hearing is of great importance for orientation in space and for recognizing directions and distances. With this hearing aid from ReSound, one can feel completely secure. It mimics the functioning of natural hearing and makes information accessible from all directions.

Basically, the hearing aids operate fully automatically, and that is also the mode that most people prefer. However, sometimes it can be quite useful to switch to another hearing program or simply adjust the volume in a challenging situation. Therefore, let’s take a brief look at the control options of the Nexia 9 Battery ITE. There is a button directly on the hearing aid. With this, you can change the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to customer preferences. Of course, its use is optional. A discreet way to change the hearing aid is with the remote control. It fits into any pocket. When the person speaking is once again too quiet, just one or two clicks are enough to adjust the volume. You can also activate additional hearing programs for listening to music or driving with the remote control.
For some time now, there has been a trend to adjust hearing aids louder or quieter using voice commands. The idea is really good, but ReSound is not quite there yet with this device. Don't worry, this feature would be nice but is not essential. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is tap control. In this case, you simply tap on your ear with your fingers, which triggers a specific function. However, this option is not available in this ReSound device.
The operation of the Nexia 9 Battery ITE is relatively simple through the associated app. It comes with plenty of additional functions and has impressed us quite a bit. We particularly enjoyed using the equalizer during testing. As a normal hearing person, one might feel a bit envious, as such features are not yet found in wireless headphones. A streaming option would not be bad for our digital everyday life. The device in question meets our need by including a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows phone calls and sounds to be sent directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.

The Nexia 9 Akku ITE has proven in the test that it accompanies us comfortably and reliably through our hearing daily life. With its excellent full automation, this device is a real highlight. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing target is reached. This significantly facilitates getting used to the new sound.
The Nexia 9 Akku ITE comes with a charger since it has built-in batteries. This is contemporary, user-friendly, and we expect this from a modern hearing aid.
The data sheet certifies the ReSound device with an IP protection class 68 certification. This makes it one of the most resilient hearing aids on the market. Dust has no chance, and water does not penetrate the casing, as long as it doesn’t submerge deeper than 1.5 m. Nevertheless, be cautious. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid salt water. However, in everyday life, you can behave completely carefree.

Everyone appreciates a few extra features, so let's see if we can find some here: We were really pleased with the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who occasionally or frequently suffer from a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Nexia 9 rechargeable ITE is essentially just a sound generator. It aims to create broad-spectrum noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all hearing areas. The tinnitus becomes less noticeable and is no longer perceived as disruptive.
We find the remote maintenance service quite interesting, which can be utilized if one doesn't have the opportunity to visit the audiologist. Instead, you contact them through the app, briefly describe your hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If that sounds good, you upload it to your hearing aids.
If ReSound had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, it could even allow for individual health tracking. However, that is not the case here. These points result in a lower rating for the Nexia 9 rechargeable ITE. The hearing aid forgoes additional features such as special assistance systems, a fall alarm, or language translators. This is not a big drawback, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
