Once again, we are focusing on a hearing aid from the company Bernafon. This time it is a conventional behind-the-ear hearing aid called Entra B 10 MNB T R. It is a hearing aid with a discreet look and is priced in a solid mid-range. It can be used for moderate, severe, and changing hearing losses. Let's take a look at what the insides have to offer:

Hearing comfort

One of our favorite chapters is hearing comfort, because it addresses one of the most important topics in our conversations with customers: background noise. Ideally, everyone would just want to hear speech and eliminate all other sounds. However, it is not that simple. Without noise, our lives would sound very thin and empty. The use of this button is, of course, optional. Very practical is the small remote control, which is available optionally. For us, this is one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid louder or quieter or switch to another hearing program. No one notices it; there's no need to reach for the ear. The modern form of control by voice command is not yet found in the Entra B 10 MNB T R. This Bernafon model does not have the capability to control the hearing aids with a simple tap of a finger, as it would require specific sensors in the casing. An app on the smartphone is intended to simplify operation, and we have found one for the Entra B 10 MNB T R. In addition to the basic functions such as volume and programs, we also find a few additional buttons for personalization. One of the best features in the hearing aid is the direct streaming function. This turns the hearing aid into a TrueWireless headphone, receiving phone calls and other sounds directly in the ear. A compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz technology is required for this. The biggest advantage is that you can hear phone calls not just in one ear, but in both. Additionally, the sound can be tailored to personal needs.

Simplicity & security

How does one cope with the hearing aid in everyday life? This is the next aspect we evaluate. Because only when such a device works easily and straightforwardly can one become accustomed to it. We would have wished for a program automation in the Entra B 10 MNB T R that adapts itself to the environment. However, this is not available, so unfortunately, there is a point deduction at this point. A crucial factor in terms of simplicity is the support during the acclimatization process. Especially after having heard poorly for years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a realistic volume. In our test device, there is an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the acclimatization phase. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.

A significant relief in everyday life is the integrated battery. This means my Entra B 10 MNB T R always has enough energy for the whole day, and I no longer have to worry about the batteries suddenly running out in the middle of an event. Even with limited dexterity, a battery system is very helpful, as the insertion of small button cells is eliminated.

The Entra B 10 is almost dust- and waterproof and, with its IP 68 classification, is surely well protected against external influences.

Those who are plagued by annoying ear noises will benefit from this. Pleasant, soft sounds are set to gently surround the tinnitus. In the end, the tinnitus blends into the background noise and is not disruptive at all.

A very good additional benefit comes from the remote maintenance service. Through the app, you can contact your audiologist and describe your hearing problem. They can then adjust the settings accordingly and upload them to the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long commute, this is a great service.

Many hearing aids today still come with a few health functions. However, since the Entra B 10 MNB T R does not have any special sensors for this, we cannot present any special features here. There are also a few lifestyle functions that turn your hearing aid into a smart assistant. Connect with voice assistants like Siri or discover what else is available in the app. While this may not have much to do with actual hearing, it can be extremely useful.
