For the next chapter, we subjected the hearing aid to a small practical test. We wanted to know if it is easy to use in everyday life and uncomplicated. The automatic situation detection is supposed to make listening easier. However, the AQ Sound FS 3 R S does not handle changing or difficult acoustic environments very well, as a few adaptive algorithms are missing. Additionally, it is advisable to always have a few extra hearing programs set up for this device. A major aspect of simplicity for us is the support during the acclimatization process. Especially after years of poor hearing, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device has an acclimatization manager that assists us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adaptation phase. After a few weeks or months, we have then reached the calculated amplification level.

A great relief in everyday life is the integrated battery. This means my AQ Sound FS 3 R S always has enough energy for the entire day, and I no longer have to worry about the batteries suddenly dying in the middle of an event. An accumulator system is also very helpful for those with limited dexterity, as it eliminates the need to insert small button cells.

We had a carefree everyday life during our test due to the IP-68 certification. This means that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and then removed the hearing aids with wet hands - no problem at all. However, the water resistance really only applies to fresh, natural water and not to foamy bath water or salt water.
