The hearing comfort determines whether someone enjoys wearing their hearing aids or not. Therefore, we first looked at how the hearing aid handles background noise. In this model, which Hansaton presents to us, a solid comfort programming by the hearing care professional is possible. Of course, noise suppression is integrated to alleviate tiring background sounds. In the AQ sound XC Pro 5 R T, ambient noise is processed in such a way that relaxed listening is possible. This device features really good wind management, making it enjoyable to be outdoors.
Quickly occurring, clattering sounds are noticeably and sufficiently dampened, which we find pleasant. Spatial hearing with the AQ sound XC Pro 5 R T requires a little practice. In our test, we discovered the following accessibility options: There is a button directly on the hearing aid. This allows you to adjust the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to the customer's wishes. Of course, using it is optional. We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This allows for discreet minor adjustments to the volume or sound.
Voice commands are a fairly new way of operating hearing aids. However, in this model, we do not have this option yet. That’s not a big deal - as long as you can hear well. You no longer need headphones here, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from a smartphone into the ears – as long as the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.
As additional equipment, an induction coil has been installed, which allows you to hear through a magnetic field. A suitable induction loop must be laid out in the room. You can find such systems at train stations or hotel receptions, as well as in churches or lecture halls. Through the induction system, you receive the speaker's voice directly in the hearing aids.

After a few weeks or months, we have then reached the calculated amplification level.
A charger is included with the AQ sound XC Pro 5 R T, as it has built-in batteries. This is contemporary, user-friendly, and we also expect this from a modern hearing aid.
We also take a look at the robustness of the housing and discover in the data sheet the protection class IP 68. This means that dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes dangerous after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.

The remote adjustment feature is really great. It is very helpful whenever you only want to make a small change to the hearing aid settings, but don't want to drive to the audiologist. Instead, you make contact via the app, and the hearing professional sends back a customized data package in the same way.
This AQ sound XC Pro 5 variant does not have sensors, so popular health tracking cannot be offered. For example, daily steps are counted. As mentioned - this hearing aid does not have this function. It also forgoes additional features such as special assistance systems, a fall alert, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
