The Real 3 mini Ex R from Oticon is a small, barely visible hearing aid that is worn behind the ear. By utilizing the comfortable position of the speaker in the ear canal, very good sound transmission is possible. The Real 3 mini Ex R is a hearing aid from the upper price segment and is suitable for moderate, severe, and fluctuating hearing losses.

The volume can be adjusted through it, and different hearing programs can also be activated. If you prefer not to make adjustments directly at the ear, you can, of course, deactivate the button. If desired, there is a remote control for the hearing aid. This allows for effortless volume control. The operation is not only incredibly easy, but no one will notice that you are adjusting your hearing aids.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but unfortunately, this one from Oticon cannot yet. This would be practical when fingers are not as agile anymore or if you simply like smart gadgets. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is a tapping control. You simply tap your fingers on your ear, which triggers a specific function. However, this option is not available in this Oticon device.
For better usability, the manufacturer also provides an app for smartphones. The Oticon app for Real 3 mini Ex R is quite advanced: not only can you change the volume, but you can also truly influence the sound and various noise parameters. You no longer need headphones here, as it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds from the smartphone directly into the ears – provided the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

The hearing aid has been classified in IP protection class 68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against dust ingress. Water cannot easily harm the hearing aid either. This makes it well-suited for outdoor activities where it can get wet and dirty. However, do not necessarily go bathing or swimming with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can alter their composition and ultimately cause damage.

It aims to produce broad-spectrum noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all hearing areas. The tinnitus fades into the background and is no longer perceived as bothersome.
A real added value is provided by the remote maintenance service. For a change in hearing aid settings, you no longer have to go to the specialist store, but can directly contact the audiologist via the app. Through a cloud service, you can then load the new data package into the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
