Buttons, switches, controls ... or would you prefer an app? Control elements can significantly expand the functionality of hearing aids. Is there something like that in the Insio 7 IX ITC? We looked it up. A very quick way to adjust the volume is the small button on the device. It is easy to feel, and you can make it louder or quieter in several steps. Additional programs for specific hearing situations can also be activated this way. If you want to do without the button, you simply have it deactivated. We do like the small remote controls, and for this model, we found one. This allows for discreet adjustments to the volume or sound.
There has been a trend for some time now to adjust the hearing aids louder or quieter using voice commands. The idea is really good, but Signia is not there yet with this device. Don't worry, this feature would be nice but is not essential. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, a tap control could be conceivable, which would trigger a specific function by tapping your fingers on your ear. However, this option is not available in the Insio 7 IX ITC.
Setting loudness or special functions via an app is already widespread today, and the Insio 7 IX ITC follows this path and provides us with an app. This app offers much more than just hearing aid functions and gives us a glimpse of what hearing aids could be used for in the future - apart from good hearing. Problems with phone calls on a smartphone are now a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are completely transmitted wirelessly to the hearing aids. Headphones become obsolete. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as for listening to music while exercising. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is needed.

The situational automation of the Insio 7 IX ITC includes nearly everything one can experience in daily life. It provides me with the perfect setting at all times without me having to do anything actively. Especially in varying situations, this is extremely convenient and allows me to almost forget that I'm wearing the hearing aid. A great feature of this hearing aid is the automatic acclimatization. Especially when someone has been hearing poorly for a long time and then wears a hearing aid for the first time, this is a tremendous relief. The volume does not have to be turned up all at once. One can start at a lower level and gradually and almost unnoticed, the amplification approaches the target.
The Insio 7 IX ITC is not rechargeable; it operates using hearing aid batteries. Unlike a rechargeable battery, it does not need to be charged daily; however, after a few days, the size 312 battery needs to be replaced.
The hearing aid has been rated IP68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against dust ingress. Water also cannot easily harm the hearing aid. Thus, it is well-prepared for outdoor activities where it might get wet and dirty. Nevertheless, do not necessarily go swimming or bathing with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can alter the composition and ultimately cause harm.

Extras
The finale is reserved for the extras, meaning small additional functions that could earn the hearing aid some extra points: Here we noticed the tinnitus option. If desired, one can have a special tinnitus program set up. This applies a gentle noise to the ears if needed, to distract from the annoying tinnitus a bit. The sounds can be designed according to personal hearing preferences.
A very good added benefit comes from the remote maintenance offering. Through the app, you can contact your audiologist and describe your hearing problem. They can then adjust the settings accordingly and upload them to the hearing aids via the app. This is a great service for people with little time or a long commute.
With hearing aids, you can do much more than just hear. Here in the Insio 7 IX ITC, for example, there is the option to analyze your own movement data. Then you can check in the evening how far you have walked. This type of health tracking is interesting for many customers, so that further functions could be added through future updates. The device from Signia focuses on essential hearing functions and does not offer extras like voice assistants or translation functions.
