The Signia Pure 3 X Charge&Go in review

Es gibt bereits eine neuere Produktserie von Signia, deshalb haben wir eine Abwertung in der Gesamtnote vorgenommen. Hier finden Sie die Nachfolger: Signia AX

Signia presents the Pure 3 X Charge&Go as a model from the premium mid-range. It can accommodate almost any hearing requirement. It is a small hearing aid that delivers good sound through the receiver (= speaker), which is placed directly in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.

Hearing comfort

The comfort features determine how pleasant hearing is experienced in everyday life. This hearing aid allows for solid comfort programming by the hearing care professional. A classic noise suppression is intended to reduce annoying background noises to a tolerable level. In the Pure 3 X Charge&Go, the noise suppression works rather average, but it is somewhat modifiable. We rate the wind management here as mediocre, but it works.

In our testing, we also discovered the impulse sound control. Short, popping noises are dampened by this. It works reasonably well here, but we are not in the top tier. The device detects whether the microphones should transmit everything or should focus forward. This can help in conversation situations, but it does not replace true spatial hearing. A few more frequency channels would be desirable, but the existing 12 channels can already be worked with quite well.

If the hearing comfort is ever insufficient, you can make additional, very personal adjustments in the app. There is a special mode that uses artificial intelligence. This allows for countless real sound data to be used to help you effectively and purposefully.

Rating Hearing comfort: 3,2

Operation & connectivity

Almost everyone of us owns a smartphone, so it raises the question of whether it can be connected to the new hearing aid. Let's take a look at how connectivity and usability are with the Pure 3 X Charge&Go. There is a button directly on the hearing aid. With it, you can adjust the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be customized according to customer wishes. The use is of course optional. A remote control is available for the Pure 3 X Charge&Go. It's quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume option as well as various hearing programs.

Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but this one from Signia unfortunately cannot yet. It would be practical when fingers are not so agile anymore or when one simply likes smart gadgets. Some hearing aids can be controlled with a quick tap of the finger, without needing to press a button separately. However, this feature has not been implemented here yet.

In the AppStore, we also find a suitable application from Signia. The app for the Pure 3 X Charge&Go is not one of our highlights, but it has everything you need for your hearing systems. A streaming option would be nice for our digital everyday life. The device at hand fulfills our wish and comes with a 2.4 GHz wireless module. This allows you to send phone calls and sounds directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.

Simplicity & security

The usability is the next aspect we want to address. This involves practicality and the question of how easy and safe it is to navigate life with the hearing aid. Unfortunately, the Pure 3 X Charge&Go lacks a powerful situational automatic feature. We have to settle for a few standard settings. Active hearing aid users will surely encounter limitations here. We award a significant plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually raises the starting volume in very small increments until my hearing goal is reached. This greatly facilitates getting used to the new sound.

The Pure 3 X Charge&Go comes with a charger, as it has built-in batteries. This is contemporary, user-friendly, and what we expect from a modern hearing aid.

We also take a look at the robustness of the casing and find the protection class IP 68 in the specifications. This means dust cannot penetrate, and water only becomes a hazard after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.

Rating Simplicity & security: 1,8

Extras

Lastly, we are interested to know if there are any additional goodies: Signia has integrated a noise generator that plays soothing sounds for those suffering from tinnitus. This can distract from the tinnitus and provide a bit more relaxation.

A very good added benefit is the remote maintenance service. Through the app, one can contact their audiologist and describe their hearing problem. The audiologist can then adjust the settings accordingly and load them into the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long journey, this is a great service.

Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which unfortunately we do not have in the Pure 3 X Charge&Go. The functionality of the Pure 3 X Charge&Go is limited to normal hearing, which is perfectly fine. Additional features like fall alerts or Siri connections provide significant added value, but are not relevant for good hearing balance.

Conclusion: Signia Pure 3 X Charge&Go

In the overall result, this test device ranks in the lower positions and is lacking in some features. We award a grade of 3.5. For less demanding listeners, this is acceptable, but for a very active lifestyle, we recommend a hearing aid with more extensive comfort features.
