Signia introduces the Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC, a model from the upper middle class. It can compensate for nearly every hearing need. It is a discreet hearing aid that delivers good sound quality due to the cleverly chosen placement of the speaker in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.

What is most annoying for hearing aid users: Exactly, background noise. That’s why we first look at the comfort features that the test device includes. With the Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC, solid comfort programming by the hearing care professional is possible. A normal noise suppression is definitely present. It is intended to dampen constant sounds like street noise or the noise of the air conditioning. In our test device from Signia, the noise suppression works rather average but is slightly adjustable.

Impulsive sounds are identified and reliably cushioned. This is noticeable, for example, with typical kitchen noises or also when handling paper or typing on a keyboard. We rate the wind management here as mediocre, but it works. While the Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC doesn't have many adjustable equalizer bands, the 12 should be sufficient for a good listening experience. The app is definitely very useful. Anyone with a smartphone should download it. Even though the app is not one of our favorites, it is a valuable addition to the Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC. A streaming option would not be bad for our digital everyday life. The present device fulfills our wish and includes a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows you to send phone calls and sounds directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.

Especially for those who have been hearing poorly for a long time and are using a hearing aid for the first time, this is a tremendous relief. The volume does not have to be turned up all the way immediately. You can start at a lower level, and gradually, almost unnoticed, the amplification approaches the target level.

The Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC is rechargeable and no longer requires hearing aid batteries. This is environmentally friendly, as there are no used batteries to dispose of. At the same time, it is also extremely convenient, as there is no need to carry spare batteries. The hearing aids simply sit in the charging station at night and are ready for use the next morning.

Those who need a new programming of their hearing aids can easily contact their acoustician via the app and describe their hearing preferences. Through a cloud service, the professional can then send a customized setting as a data package to the app. From there, it is uploaded to the hearing aid and can be tested immediately. This definitely deserves extra points in our test.

For health-conscious individuals, there is a special feature in the Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC: health tracking. For example, steps can be counted throughout the day, and feedback on one's physical activity can be received. Sensors in the hearing aid track the individual data, which can then be accessed in the app. The functionality of the Styletto 3 AX SLIM RIC is limited to normal hearing, which is perfectly fine. Additional features like fall alerts or Siri connections do provide considerable added value but are not relevant for good hearing balance.
