Voice control is a modern way to operate hearing aids. Unitron has integrated this feature into its model, saving us the hassle of feeling for a small button. Touch control requires that sensors are implemented in the hearing aid. This is indeed the case here. You can simply tap the outer ear with a few fingers or the flat of your hand to trigger a command. This could be, for example, activating a TV adapter or answering a phone call. How does one cope with a hearing aid in everyday life? This is the next aspect we need to evaluate. Because only when such a device works simply and effortlessly can one become accustomed to it. Typical hearing situations that everyone experiences in their environment are reliably recognized and adjusted through automatic settings. However, for more specific, recurring requirements, one cannot avoid using the manual hearing programs. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. In the background, it gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and gradually get used to the new auditory impressions.
The B Moxi 5 R T comes with a charging station, as it has built-in batteries. This is contemporary, user-friendly, and what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
The hearing aid has been rated IP68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against dust ingress. Water cannot easily damage the hearing aid either. It is well-equipped for outdoor activities where it can get wet and dirty. However, do not necessarily go bathing or swimming with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can alter the composition and may ultimately cause damage.

Am Ende unseres Testberichtes gibt es noch ein bisschen Platz für die Extra-Features: Auf jeden Fall erwähnenswert ist das Tinnitusprogramm. Davon werden all jene profitieren, die von lästigen Ohrgeräuschen geplagt werden. Angenehme, leise Geräusche werden so eingestellt, dass sie den Tinnitus sanft umspielen. Am Ende versinkt der Tinnitus in der Geräuschkulisse und fällt gar nicht mehr störend auf.
Die Möglichkeit zur Ferneinstellung finden wir richtig gut. Die ist immer dann sehr hilfreich, wenn man nur eine Kleinigkeit an der Hörgerät-Einstellung verändert haben möchte, aber nicht extra zum Hörakustiker fahren will. Den Kontakt nimmt man stattdessen über die App auf, und der Hörprofi schickt ein angepasstes Datenpaket auf dem gleichen Weg zurück.
Viele Hörgeräte haben heute noch ein paar Gesundheits-Funktionen dabei. Da das B Moxi 5 R T aber keine speziellen Sensoren dafür hat, können wir hier keine Besonderheiten vorstellen. Dieses Unitron-Hörgerät hat keine weiteren Lifestyle-Optionen an Bord. Anderswo gibt es Sprachassistenten oder Erinnerungsfunktionen, aber zum guten Hören braucht man das nicht. Es hätte das Produkt nur etwas cooler gemacht.
