In this test device, a solid comfort programming is possible by the audiologist. As with all hearing aids, we also find the typical noise reduction here. It is supposed to reduce monotonous, noisy background sounds so much that they no longer stand out. With the V Moxi 3 R, we are not exactly spoiled, but we can live well with simple noise suppression.
Unitron is sure to impress all outdoor fans with this device, as wind is not only pleasantly dampened, but speech understanding should continue to work effortlessly. Additionally, there is a really strong impulse filter that reduces all short, intense sounds to the extent desired by the user. A few more frequency channels would be desirable, but the existing 12 channels already allow for quite good performance. The hearing aid automatically determines whether the microphones should focus on a speaker or not. There is a decent spatial impression, but accurately identifying directions or estimating distances through hearing is not so easy.
Artificial intelligence has also made its way into hearing aids, like here in the V Moxi 3 R. This provides much more data to identify speech and noise. From our experience, the sound of hearing aids with AI is perceived as particularly precise and realistic.

The operating options for hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as anyone would like. The basic functions run fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how a user can access the V Moxi 3 R beyond that. A very quick way to adjust the volume is the small button on the device. It is easy to feel, and you can increase or decrease the volume in several steps. Additional programs for special hearing situations can also be activated with it. If someone wants to do without the button, they can simply have it deactivated. If desired, there is a remote control for the hearing aid. This allows you to effortlessly adjust the volume. The handling is not only child’s play, but no one will notice that you are adjusting your hearing aids.
A valuable addition is the ability to control the V Moxi 3 R via voice command. This is already familiar from smartphones or car navigation systems, and it can also be very practical in the hearing aid. With the sensor technology, Unitron takes an innovative approach and opens up entirely new opportunities. For example, there is a tap control for the V Moxi 3 R. Simply tap briefly, but noticeably, with the flat hand or a few fingers on your ear shell. The hearing aid can then perform a specific function, such as switching to a special setting. Your audiologist can configure this according to your wishes.
An app on the smartphone is supposed to simplify operation, and we have also found one for the V Moxi 3 R. In addition to basic functions such as volume and programs, we find a few more buttons for personalization. We had a lot of fun with direct, wireless streaming. This means that phone calls from the smartphone are transmitted to the hearing aids without any additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and hearing videos is incredibly comfortable.

An important factor for the acceptance of a hearing aid is its everyday usability. This includes automated functions, as well as robustness and user-friendliness. We receive relatively little support from the program automation in the V Moxi 3 R. Without a few individual hearing programs, one probably won't manage in a lively everyday life. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adaptation to the new sound.
The V Moxi 3 R is rechargeable and no longer requires batteries. This is not only environmentally friendly, but also very convenient to use and frees me from the burden of constantly thinking about battery replacements.
We had a carefree everyday life in our test due to the IP-68 certification. This indicates that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and then removed the hearing aids with wet hands - no problem at all. However, the water resistance really only applies to fresh, natural water and not to bubbly bathwater or saltwater.

In conclusion, we want to know if the hearing aid offers any specials: We noticed the tinnitus option. If desired, one can have a special tinnitus program set up. This gently plays a soft noise in the ears, to provide some distraction from the annoying tinnitus. The sounds can be customized according to personal listening preferences.
We find the remote maintenance service exciting, which can be utilized. If one doesn't have the opportunity to visit the hearing care professional, they can instead contact them through the app, briefly describe their hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, they can upload it to their hearing aids.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the V Moxi 3 R. This Unitron hearing aid does not have any additional lifestyle options onboard. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but you do not need them for good hearing. It simply would have made the product a bit cooler.
