Widex introduces the Moment Sheer 330 sRIC R D, a model at a rather premium price. It can compensate for mild to severe hearing losses. It is a discreet, slim-shaped hearing aid that provides good sound quality by placing the speaker directly in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.
Hearing comfort
First, we assess the hearing comfort features. What types of noises does the hearing aid recognize? How does it handle them? Is the hearing aid suitable for a varied daily life? Here with this test device, solid comfort programming by the hearing care professional is possible. As in all hearing aids, we also find the typical noise reduction here. It is designed to reduce monotonous, noisy environmental sounds so much that they no longer stand out as much. The Moment Sheer 330 sRIC R D has a fairly well-functioning noise reduction.
Wind noise is another issue. Many people enjoy being outdoors and are then somewhat disturbed by the wind. Unfortunately, there is no wind management here, so you simply have to endure the sounds of air movements. The suppression of short, loud acoustic events has convinced us; it is quite powerful. While the Moment Sheer 330 sRIC R D doesn't have many adjustable equalizer bands, the 12 should be sufficient for a good listening experience. The microphones of the hearing aid can take on different directional characteristics. They do this autonomously, adapting to the acoustic conditions and creating a natural spatial feel.
For difficult hearing situations, Widex has a special strategy: In the app, you will find an assistance function that enables spontaneous and precise adjustments based on artificial intelligence. This is a kind of intelligent instant help if you are not close to your hearing care professional.

Operation & connectivity
The majority of features are automatically activated by this Widex model. However, it can be very useful to have the option to extend the functionality a bit more. In our test, we found out what options we have here. The simplest way to operate it is always a button directly on the hearing aid. This model has one as well. It can be programmed according to your wishes. Do you want a manual volume control? No problem, the button allows for stepwise adjustment of the volume. Or do you need different special programs for your professional daily life or hobbies? These can also be activated through the button. If you prefer to leave everything in automatic mode, you can simply ignore the button or even have it deactivated. A discreet way to change the hearing aid is with the remote control. It fits in any pocket. If the person you are speaking to is once again too quiet, just one or two clicks are enough to adjust the volume. Additional hearing programs for listening to music or driving can also be activated with the remote control.
We are always pleased when a hearing aid surprises us with a fantastic additional feature. For instance, we would have liked to see voice control at this point. But it is currently not available on the Sheer 330 sRIC R D. If there were sensors in the hearing aid, tap control could be an option, which would trigger a specific function by tapping your fingers on your ear. However, this possibility is currently not available on the Sheer 330 sRIC R D.
Our favorite tool for hearing aids is the app, and we really like this one. In addition to the obligatory volume controls, there is also an option for sound adjustment. This significantly expands the potential of the Moment Sheer 330 sRIC R D and provides relief when hearing becomes exhausting again. We really enjoyed the direct, wireless streaming. This means that calls from your smartphone can be transmitted to the hearing aids without any additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free device or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and listening to videos is incredibly comfortable.

I don't have to do anything else but wear my hearing aids regularly.
The Moment Sheer 330 sRIC R D is rechargeable and no longer requires hearing aid batteries. This is environmentally friendly, as there are no old batteries to dispose of. At the same time, it is also extremely convenient, as there is no need to carry spare batteries. The hearing aids simply go into the charging station in the evening and are ready for use the next morning.
The datasheet certifies the Widex device with an IP protection class of 68. This makes it one of the most robust hearing aids on the market. Dust has no chance, and water does not penetrate the housing unless it is submerged deeper than 1.5 meters. However, be careful. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid seawater. In everyday life, however, you can act completely carefree.

Working individuals with little time can contact their audiologist online and have their hearing aids reprogrammed. Hearing aid users who have a longer travel distance to the specialist store also benefit from this special service.
If Widex had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, it could even allow for individual health tracking. However, this is not the case here.
