The Audio Service G5 8 Sina in review
In this test report, we are discussing the G5 8 Sina. It was developed by Audio Service and covers mild to moderate hearing loss. This variant is worn in the ear. The G5 8 Sina is a small, barely visible hearing aid from an affordable price range. The clean sound transmission is achieved through its natural, cleverly chosen fit directly in the ear canal.
Hearing comfort
First, we evaluate the hearing comfort features. What types of noise does the hearing aid recognize? How does it handle them? Is the hearing aid suitable for a varied everyday life? Here with this test device, a solid comfort programming by the hearing care professional is possible. As in all hearing aids, we also find typical noise reduction here. It is designed to reduce monotonous, noisy background sounds to the point where they are no longer in the foreground. With the G5 8 Sina, the noise suppression works rather average, but it is somewhat adjustable.
A wind manager is not necessary for this model. It is hidden in the ear canal and is naturally protected from wind by the outer ear. There is also a so-called bang filter here. It slightly dampens short and loud noises. This is a sensible function, but we would have preferred a bit more adjustment depth. The G5 8 Sina does not have many adjustable equalizer bands, but the 12 should be sufficient for a good hearing experience. Spatial hearing with the G5 8 Sina occurs in a completely natural way. Due to the special placement deep in the ear canal, the function of the outer ear is preserved, and there are no losses in directional hearing.
Strategies based on artificial intelligence are not yet implemented in this hearing aid from Audio Service.

Audio Service G5 8 Sina :
Operation & connectivity
The majority of hearing aids automatically adapt to their surroundings. However, it is sometimes very practical to be able to make changes oneself. After all, the hearing aid does not know how one is feeling at the moment. We looked at what control options the G5 8 Sina offers: A very quick way to adjust the volume is the small button on the device. It is easy to feel, and the volume can be adjusted in several levels, either louder or quieter. Additional programs for special listening situations can also be activated with it. If someone wants to do without the button, they can simply have it deactivated. We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This way, you can discreetly make small changes to the volume or sound.
Voice commands are a fairly new way to operate hearing aids. However, this model does not have this feature yet. That’s not a big deal – the main thing is that one can hear well. Some hearing aids can also be controlled with a quick tap of the finger without needing to press a button. This feature has not been implemented here yet.
In the app stores, there is a free app that can be used if desired. We tried it out and were relatively quick to get through it. The range of functions is rather modest. Nevertheless, it is a convenient and unobtrusive way to adjust the G5 8 Sina temporarily. A wireless connection to a smartphone or laptop is not possible, as the necessary hardware components are missing. One should think carefully about whether they can do without this feature, but do give it a try.

Simplicity & security
An important factor for the acceptance of a hearing aid is its suitability for everyday use. This includes, for example, automated functions as well as robustness and user-friendliness. The G5 8 Sina features a solid automatic functionality that is likely sufficient for a quieter life. However, for more complex hearing environments, we recommend the additional manual programs. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny increments until our target amplification is reached. We can relax and slowly get used to the new auditory impressions.
The G5 8 Sina is not rechargeable. It continues to get its power from single-use batteries size 10, which need to be changed every few days.
We had a carefree everyday experience in our test due to the IP-68 certification. This indicates that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and then took out the hearing aids with wet hands - no problem at all. However, the water resistance really only applies to fresh, natural water and not to bubbly bath water or seawater.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,3
Extras
At the end of our test report, there is still a little space for the extra features: Are you one of the tinnitus sufferers? Then you could use the optional tinnitus program in the G5 8 Sina. Soft, gentle sounds are tuned to your hearing and engage all areas of the inner ear. It's nothing more than a distraction tactic, and it works surprisingly well. The tinnitus fades into the general noise and no longer bothers you. This is a simple but effective tool and earns extra points from us.
Unfortunately, there is no option for remote adjustment. So, anyone who needs optimization and wants to change their hearing aid settings cannot avoid a visit to the audiology professional.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the G5 8 Sina. It would have been nice to have some lifestyle features, but they are not available in the G5 8 Sina. Other hearing aids can score points with speech translators or fall alarms, but here it remains within the usual range of functionality.

Conclusion: Audio Service G5 8 Sina
This test device ranks low in the overall result and lacks some features. We give it a rating of 4.37. For less demanding listeners, this is acceptable; however, for a very active lifestyle, we recommend a hearing aid with more extensive comfort features.
