In this hearing aid, the manufacturer provides the customer with comprehensive noise management. Traditional noise suppression ensures that uniform, insignificant sounds are slightly reduced. This allows you to adjust the volume or activate additional listening programs. It can be programmed according to the customer's wishes. The use of this button is of course optional. The small remote control, which is available as an option, is very practical. For us, this is one of the most comfortable ways to make the hearing aid louder or quieter or to switch to another hearing program. No one notices, and there is no need to reach for your ear.

We are always pleased when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional feature. For example, we would have liked to see a voice control at this point. However, this feature is currently not available in the Alpha 7 MNR T R. In addition to buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids still have a tap control. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and the device will switch. However, we do not have this at Bernafon, as it would have required specific sensors.

In the App Store, we also find a suitable application from Bernafon. The app for the Alpha 7 MNR T R is not one of our highlights, but it has everything you need for your hearing systems. We really enjoyed the direct, wireless streaming. This means that calls from the smartphone are transmitted to the hearing aids without any additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and hearing videos is also incredibly comfortable.

Bernafon Alpha 7 MNR T R: The Alpha hearing aids from Bernafon have an extra flight mode. When you are asked to turn off all wireless connections on the plane, you can easily turn off the wireless connection in the hearing aid with the press of a button.

Simplicity & security

How does one manage with a hearing aid in everyday life? This is the next aspect we evaluate. Because only if such a device functions simply and effortlessly can one get used to it. The automatic situational recognition plays a significant role in our test. The better it works, the easier it is for our hearing to get through the day. The Alpha 7 MNR T R performs excellently here and adapts to many situations. The adjustment to the new hearing experience is supported by this device with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in hardly noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely balanced out. I don't have to do anything more than wear my hearing aids regularly.

The Alpha 7 MNR T R contains a rechargeable battery. We think this is great because rechargeable hearing aids are absolutely up to date. You don't have to have batteries lying around everywhere and you don't have to change the battery in the middle of a concert. The hearing aid is simply placed in the charging station overnight and has enough power for the following day.

The Alpha 7 is almost dust and waterproof and, with its IP 68 classification, is certainly well protected against external influences.

The Alpha can be powered either by an affordable, wired charging station or by the ChargerPlus, which serves both as a transport case and a power bank.

At the end of our test report, there is still a bit of space for the extra features: We really liked the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently troubled by a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Alpha 7 MNR T R is actually nothing more than a sound generator. It aims to produce broad-band noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus is masked by it and is no longer perceived as disturbing.

We find the remote maintenance service exciting, which can be utilized. If one does not have the opportunity to go to the hearing specialist, one can contact them via the app instead, briefly describe their hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration.
