First, we looked at the comfort features. The better these are, the easier and more pleasant the hearing experience becomes. This hearing aid provides customers with comprehensive noise management. Every person has their own unique hearing needs. It is advantageous to be able to customize hearing aids beyond the automatic functions. In our test, we discovered the following access options: First, we found a button directly on the hearing aid. This is very practical, as it is the simplest and quickest way to make a change. The volume can be adjusted through it, and various hearing programs can also be activated. If you prefer not to adjust anything directly at the ear, the button can of course be disabled. We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This allows for discreet minor adjustments to the volume or sound.
Some hearing aids can already be voice-controlled, but this one from Bernafon cannot yet. That would be practical when fingers are not as mobile or if one simply likes smart gadgets. Besides buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids also feature tap control. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and the device will switch. However, we don't have that here with Bernafon, as it would have required specific sensors.
The app is definitely very useful. Anyone with a smartphone should download it. Even though the app is not one of our favorites, it is a helpful addition to the Alpha 9 MNR T R. We really enjoyed direct wireless streaming. This means that calls from the smartphone are transmitted to the hearing aids without additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and listening to videos is incredibly comfortable.

Ideally, the hearing aid should operate largely independently. The performance of the Alpha 9 MNR T R is exceptionally good in this regard. It has a multitude of typical hearing situations stored, which the device recognizes independently and generates the appropriate setting. The adjustment to the new hearing sensation is supported by a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely compensated. I don't have to do anything other than regularly wear my hearing aids.
An extremely useful development in recent years is, in our opinion, the integrated rechargeable battery. In our everyday life, we are accustomed to recharging electronic devices. The Alpha 9 MNR T R is also rechargeable, so we can do away with the annoying battery changes.
The Alpha 9 is virtually dust and water resistant and, with its IP 68 classification, is certainly well protected against external influences.

Finally, we want to know if the hearing aid maybe offers any specials: We really liked the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently plagued by a whistling or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Alpha 9 MNR T R is basically nothing more than a sound generator. It’s about generating broad-spectrum noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all hearing areas. The tinnitus gets drowned out and is no longer perceived as disturbing.
A very good additional benefit comes from the offer of remote maintenance. Through the app, you can contact your hearing care professional and describe your hearing problem. They can adjust the settings accordingly and upload them to the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long travel distance, this is a great service.
A new trend in the hearing aid industry is integrated sensors, which can be used to track personal health data, for example. However, the Alpha 9 MNR T R does not have this feature. Get even more out of the Alpha 9 MNR T R by using the smart lifestyle functions.
