Hansaton offers the AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T, a discreet hearing aid that is worn behind the ear. It is a hearing aid from the business class and is suitable for mild to severe hearing losses. The inconspicuous and simultaneously intelligent placement of the speaker in the ear canal ensures that the sound reaches the eardrum without losses.

First, we assess the hearing comfort features. What types of sounds does the hearing aid recognize? How does it handle them? Is the hearing aid suitable for a varied everyday life? Here with this test device, a solid comfort programming by the audiologist is possible. As in all hearing aids, we also find the typical noise suppression here. It is supposed to reduce monotonous, noisy background sounds to the point where they are no longer in the foreground. With the AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T, we are satisfied with the effectiveness of the noise suppression. It can not only be turned on or off but also adjusted in stages.
In this device, we find really good wind management, making outdoor stays enjoyable. We are pleased to find good and efficient impulse sound damping here. This is definitely useful in everyday life, as it noticeably cushions door slams, dish clatter, or similarly rattling sounds. The AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T is one of the good hearing aids, at least in terms of the number of frequency bands. With 16 bands, it is well-equipped for precise adjustment to personal sound preferences. Spatial hearing works very reliably. Directional hearing is supported, and the spatial impression is good.
Strategies based on artificial intelligence have not yet been implemented in this hearing aid from Hansaton.

For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume up or down, there is a button on the device. You can also select additional programs for special hearing situations through it. A remote control is available for the AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T. It's quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume up/down option as well as various hearing programs.
For some time now, there has been a trend to adjust hearing aids louder or quieter via voice commands. The idea is really good, but Hansaton hasn’t reached that point with this device yet. Don’t worry; this feature would be nice but is not essential. In addition to buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids also have a tap control. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and the device switches. However, we don’t have that here at Hansaton, as it would have required specific sensors.

Continuing with the test: How is the user-friendliness? Is it easy or complicated to handle the hearing aid? A well-functioning situation recognition already creates a lot of relaxation in everyday hearing. You don’t have to constantly switch around on the device and can easily embrace the automated adjustment. Some people struggle with getting used to it, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to cope with the new volume. There is a familiarization manager that gradually leads us to the necessary target amplification. The period can last from a few weeks to several months, and this is individually adjustable. The individual steps are so small that you don't even notice that there has just been a volume increase.
The AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T comes with a charger, as it has built-in batteries. This is modern, user-friendly, and what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
The hearing aid has been classified into IP protection class 68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against dust ingress. Water also cannot easily damage the hearing aid. This makes it well-equipped for outdoor activities where it can get wet and dirty. However, you should not necessarily go bathing or swimming with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can alter the composition and ultimately cause damage.

Finally, we want to know if the hearing aid perhaps offers any specials: A special tinnitus program can be programmed on request in the AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T. This allows for the generation of stimulating, pleasant sounds that distract from tinnitus when it is particularly strong. We find this very useful and gladly award extra points.
We find the remote maintenance service exciting, which can be utilized. If one doesn't have the opportunity to visit the audiologist, they can instead contact them via the app, briefly describe their hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, they can upload it to their hearing aids.
Many hearing aids today still come with a few health functions. However, since the AQ sound XC Pro 7 R T does not have any special sensors for that, we cannot present any particular features here. This Hansaton hearing aid does not have any additional lifestyle options on board. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but you don't need that for good hearing. It would have just made the product a bit cooler.
