The jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC is a small, barely visible hearing aid from the lower mid-range. We achieve clean sound transmission through the precise placement directly in the ear canal.
Hearing comfort
What is most bothersome for hearing aid users: Exactly, background noise. That's why we first look at what comfort features the test device includes. In the jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC, solid comfort programming by the acoustician is possible. Normal noise suppression is definitely present. It aims to dampen constant noises like traffic noise or the hum of the air conditioner. In our test device from Hansaton, the noise suppression works rather average, but it is somewhat customizable.
We are pleased to find good and efficient impulse sound damping here. This is definitely useful in everyday life, as it noticeably cushions door slams, dish clattering, or similarly jarring noises. Here, the wind suppression is very solid and meets our daily needs. A few more frequency channels would be desirable, but the existing 12 channels already work quite well. The special design of the jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC proves to be a stroke of luck when it comes to spatial hearing. The microphones are positioned deep in the ear canal, and that is exactly where sound reaches normal hearing individuals. Thus, spatial hearing does not need to be artificially reproduced; it occurs naturally.
The signal processing is based, among other things, on typical frequency patterns of speech and noise, but artificial intelligence is not yet utilized here.

Operation & connectivity
Most hearing aids automatically adapt to their environment. However, it is sometimes very practical to be able to make some adjustments yourself. After all, the hearing aid doesn't know how you are feeling at the moment. We looked into the control options offered by the jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC: There is a button directly on the hearing aid. This can be used to change the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to customer preferences. The use is, of course, optional. We did not find a remote control. It's a pity because we actually find this discreet control option quite nice.
We are always pleased when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional feature. For instance, we would have liked to see voice control at this point. But it is not currently available in the jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC. Some hearing aids can be controlled with a quick tap of the finger without having to press a button separately. However, this feature is not yet implemented here.
We searched in the app store for an app for further adjustments without success, which we would have liked differently. If you were looking forward to wireless streaming, we unfortunately have to disappoint you, as a wireless module has unfortunately not been integrated here.

Simplicity & security
Another point on our checklist is handling. Is everything simple and reliable? What does the hearing aid offer to ensure safe application in everyday life? Simplicity in a hearing aid primarily means that it adapts flexibly to changing hearing scenarios. The jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC has not completely convinced us in this regard. While there is a situation recognition feature that differentiates between quieter and louder environments, it works. However, those who are actively engaged in life may occasionally hit some limits with it. But that's not so bad; you can fall back on manual adjustment options. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It raises the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.
Many hearing aids today have a rechargeable battery, but the jazz XC Pro 3 10 CIC still operates with disposable batteries. This is somewhat cumbersome in handling and also burdens the environment.
Hearing aids are subject to external influences. However, this model does not have any special coating against moisture or dust. This is unusual nowadays and surprises us. Optimal care is therefore essential here.

Als letztes interessiert uns, ob es noch ein paar Goodies on top gibt: Hier ist uns die Tinnitus-Option aufgefallen. Wer mag, kann sich ein spezielles Tinnitus-Programm einrichten lassen. Das legt bei Bedarf ein sanftes Rauschen auf die Ohren, um vom nervigen Tinnitus ein wenig abzulenken. Die Geräusche können nach dem persönlichen Hörgeschmack gestaltet werden.
Ein schönes Feature wäre ein Fernwartungsservice, um sich vom Hörprofi auch dann helfen zu lassen, wenn man gerade nicht ins Geschäft kommen kann. Aber leider gibt es das hier nicht, also gibt es auch keinen Extrapunkt.
Sensoren gibt es in dieser jazz XC Pro 3-Variante nicht, so dass auch das beliebte Gesundheits-Tracking nicht angeboten werden kann. Dabei werden z.B. die Schritte über den Tag gezählt. Wie gesagt - dieses Hörgerät hat diese Funktion nicht an Bord. Das Gerät von Hansaton konzentriert sich auf die wesentlichen Hörfunktionen und bietet keine Extras wie Srachassistenten oder Übersetzungsfunktion an. Das hätte zwar Spaß gemacht, ist für ein gutes Hörerlebnis aber nicht erforderlich.
