The usability options for hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as one would like. The basic functions operate fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how users can further access the jazz XC Pro 9 312 ITC. There is a button directly on the hearing aid. This allows you to adjust the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to customer preferences. Usage is, of course, optional. Unfortunately, there is no remote control for this model, which we find quite disappointing.

In the test, we did not find any option for voice control. This function is not necessarily required, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. There is no control of the hearing aids with a simple tap, as this Hansaton model would have required specific sensors in the housing.

We missed having an app for the jazz XC Pro 9 312 ITC in the test. If controlling via smartphone is important to you, you should look for a different model. Unfortunately, this variant completely lacks wireless connectivity options. This is no longer very modern, but it is probably due to the small size of the hearing aid.

Of course, we are also interested in how quickly one can get used to the jazz XC Pro 9 312 ITC and how easy daily use is. The situational automatic feature of the jazz XC Pro 9 312 ITC includes nearly everything you might encounter in everyday life. It provides me with the perfect settings at all times, without me having to actively do anything. Especially during varied phases, this is extremely convenient and makes me almost forget I’m wearing the hearing aid. We give it a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.

Many hearing aids today come with rechargeable batteries, but the jazz XC Pro 9 312 ITC still operates on disposable batteries. This is somewhat cumbersome to handle and additionally burdens the environment.

Unfortunately, this hearing aid does not have any special protection against dust or moisture ingress; at least there is no certification that defines the device's robustness. It may not be so well-suited for an active everyday life.

This allows for the generation of stimulating, pleasant sounds that distract from the tinnitus when it is particularly strong. We find this very useful and are happy to award extra points.
