What hearing comfort does the HearLink 7010 MNR T provide? How is it operated? Is it worth the investment? Answers to these questions can be found in our test report on this hearing aid from Philips. First, the basics: It is worn behind the ear, and due to the deep placement of the speaker in the ear canal, sound can easily travel towards the eardrum. This is important because it is the only way to produce a really good, wideband sound.

The HearLink 7010 MNR T is a small mini hearing aid in a higher quality range that can cover both mild and greater hearing needs. Read more details:

Hearing comfort

First, we looked at the comfort features. The better these are, the easier and more pleasant the listening experience becomes. For this hearing aid, a solid comfort programming is possible through the acoustician. The traditional noise suppression ensures that uniform, unimportant sounds are slightly reduced. In the HearLink 7010 MNR T, noise suppression works rather average, but it is somewhat adjustable. This device can detect wind and slightly reduce the noise.

A pulse sound attenuator for short, sharp noises is sensibly integrated here and is completely sufficient for everyday use. Spatial hearing requires a bit of practice with the HearLink 7010 MNR T. However, the adaptive microphone system provides quite good support in company. With 14 frequency bands, you can achieve a pretty good sound. A passionate musician might not be fully satisfied with it, but for normal hearing and sound needs, this number is completely sufficient.

Other hearing aids already use artificial intelligence in their signal processing, but the HearLink 7010 MNR T does not yet employ this strategy.

Philips: Entertaining at a party

Philips HearLink 7010 MNR T: Large rooms with multiple speakers are often a real challenge for people with hearing problems. The Philips HearLink 7010 is definitely a good supporter in this regard. The automatic feature facilitates understanding the conversation partner and makes conversations possible again.

Operation & connectivity

How can one fully utilize the potential of hearing aids in everyday life? We have discovered the accessibility options available with the HearLink 7010 MNR T. For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume, there is a button on the device. You can also select additional programs for special hearing situations through it. A discreet way to change the hearing aid is the remote control. It fits in any pocket. If the person you are talking to is too quiet again, just one or two clicks are enough to adjust the volume. Additional hearing programs for listening to music or for driving can also be activated with the remote control.

Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but unfortunately, this one from Philips cannot yet. It would be practical if your fingers are not as nimble anymore or if you simply like smart gadgets. Some hearing aids can also be operated with a quick tap, without needing to press a button. However, this feature has not been implemented here yet.

The app is definitely very useful. Anyone with a smartphone should download it. Even if the app is not one of our favorites, it is still a helpful addition to the HearLink 7010 MNR T. We really enjoyed the direct, wireless streaming. This means that phone calls from the smartphone are transmitted to the hearing aids without any additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and hearing videos is incredibly comfortable as well.

Simplicity & security

Usability is the next aspect we want to address. This is about practicality and the question of how easy and safe it is to navigate life with the hearing aid. A well-functioning situational awareness creates a lot of relaxation in daily hearing. You don’t have to constantly switch the device and can easily rely on the automated adjustments. We give a big plus for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing target is reached. This greatly facilitates getting used to the new sound.

The HearLink 7010 MNR T gets its power from small disposable batteries that need to be changed every few days. While this isn't rocket science, it should be considered, especially for those with motor difficulties. A rechargeable battery would be much easier to handle.

The HearLink 7010 is virtually dust and water-resistant and, with its IP 68 rating, is certainly well protected against external influences.

Philips: Women’s conversation on the park bench

Philips HearLink 7010 MNR T: Even outdoors, communication can be enhanced by the HearLink 7010. There are often a few background noises, and the conversation partner is not directly in front of you. The amplification power of the hearing aid provides valuable assistance here.

Extras

Finally, let's take a quick look at any additional features: For example, a tinnitus option would be interesting. Unfortunately, we did not find any way to relieve tinnitus in the HearLink 7010 MNR T.

A real added value is the remote maintenance service. You no longer need to go to the specialist store for a change in hearing aid settings, but can directly contact the audiologist through the app. Using a cloud service, you can then upload the new data package to the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.

Many hearing aids today still come with a few health functions. However, since the HearLink 7010 MNR T does not have any specialized sensors for this, we cannot present any special features. Get even more out of the HearLink 7010 MNR T by using the smart lifestyle functions. They expand the range of the hearing aids with various assistance programs and significantly enhance the functionality.
