The Phonak Audeo Marvel 30 312 in review
Marvel gehört mittlerweile zu den Auslaufmodellen. Aus diesem Grund wurde die Gesamtnote mit einer Abwertung versehen. Informieren Sie sich hier über den Nachfolger: Phonak Paradise
Phonak presents the Audeo Marvel 30 312, a model from the lower mid-range. It can compensate for mild to moderate hearing needs. It is a small hearing aid with a very sleek design that delivers good sound quality through the innovative placement of the speaker directly in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.
Hearing comfort
First, we looked at the comfort features. The better these are, the easier and more pleasant the listening experience becomes. With this hearing aid, we find only the absolute essentials when it comes to listening comfort. The traditional noise suppression helps reduce uniform, unimportant sounds slightly. With the Audeo Marvel 30 312, we are not particularly spoiled, but we can manage well with basic noise suppression. However, users of the Audeo Marvel 30 312 must contend with the wind that sweeps across the microphones. There is no wind noise reduction here.
Unfortunately, we did not find a burst filter that reacts to short, loud sounds. We miss a good room sound, but the automatic focus can be quite helpful in situations with several people. With 8 frequency bands, we are not entirely satisfied with the 312, but this should be sufficient for unproblematic hearing curves. The sound may not be entirely natural with this setup.
The signal processing is based, among other things, on typical frequency patterns of speech and noise, but artificial intelligence is not yet being used here.
The operating system of this hearing aid is AutoSense 3.0. The new version of this software runs in the PhonakParadise hearing aids.

Operation & connectivity
How can one fully utilize the potential of hearing aids in everyday life? We have discovered the access options available with the Audeo Marvel 30 312. There is usually a button on the hearing aid, and we have found it on the Audeo Marvel 30 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be disabled if desired. A remote control is available for the Audeo Marvel 30 312. It is quite convenient, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume up-down option as well as various listening programs.
Voice commands are a relatively new way of operating hearing aids. However, we do not have this option in this model yet. This is not a big deal - the main thing is to be able to hear well. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, a tap control could be conceivable, which would trigger a specific function by tapping your fingers on your ear. However, this option is not available in the Audeo Marvel 30 312.
As expected, we find a suitable application for the smartphone. Here we have a powerful app that trusts its users and provides an extensive toolbox. For our digital everyday life, a streaming option would be nice. The device in question fulfills our desire and comes with a 2.4 GHz wireless module. With this, you can send phone calls and sounds directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.
Rating Operation & connectivity: 1,8

Simplicity & security
User-friendliness is the next aspect we want to address. It's about everyday usability and the question of how easy and safe it is to go through life with the hearing aid. The Audeo Marvel 30 312 has a solid everyday automatic feature that is likely sufficient for a quieter life. However, for more complex hearing environments, we recommend the additional manual programs. This device supports the adjustment to the new hearing experience with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in hardly noticeable steps until my hearing loss is fully compensated. I don’t have to do anything other than wear my hearing aids regularly.
Unfortunately, the Audeo Marvel 30 312 is not equipped with a rechargeable battery, so regular size 312 batteries are needed for operation.
The Audeo Marvel 30 is nearly dust- and water-proof, and with its IP 68 classification, it is certainly well protected against external influences.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,3
Extras
In conclusion, we want to know if the hearing aid possibly offers any specials: Phonak has integrated a sound generator that plays some soothing sounds for tinnitus sufferers. This can distract from the tinnitus and provide a bit more relaxation.
We really like the remote adjustment feature. It is very helpful when you only want to change a small setting on the hearing aid but don't want to drive to the audiologist. Instead, you contact them through the app, and the hearing professional sends back an adjusted data package in the same way.
If Phonak had integrated motion sensors in this hearing aid, individual health tracking could even be possible. However, this is not the case here. These points are lost in the rating of the Audeo Marvel 30 312. The device from Phonak focuses on essential hearing functions and does not offer extras like voice assistants or translation features. While those might have been enjoyable, they are not necessary for a good hearing experience.
Rating Extras: 2,5
Conclusion: Phonak Audeo Marvel 30 312
In summary, this device ranks in the lower positions and provides us with hardly more than a solid basic equipment. Of course, one can understand speech with this device, just like with all hearing aids, but not much is done to alleviate the listening effort. Our overall rating: 4.75. Please always consider this rating in relation to the price range of this hearing aid.
