Phonak presents the Audeo Paradise 30 312, a model from the lower mid-range. It can address almost any hearing need. It is a very small hearing aid that delivers good sound through the innovative placement of the speaker directly in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.
Hearing comfort
What is most bothersome for hearing aid users: Exactly, background noises. That's why we’ll first look at what comfort features the test device includes. The Audeo Paradise 30 312 offers very few options for influencing comfort. A standard noise reduction is definitely present. It is designed to dampen constant noises like traffic noise or the hum of an air conditioner. Our test device from Phonak includes a remarkable, well-functioning noise reduction.
Unfortunately, an impulse sound suppressor is not included in the Audeo Paradise 30 312. Unfortunately, this hearing aid still lacks wind noise reduction. Too bad. The Audeo Paradise 30 312 has 12 adjustable frequency bands, placing it in the mid-range. A good acoustician can certainly extract a reasonable sound from it. The adjustable microphones help detect specific directions and can also assist in noise cancellation, but the spatial sound was not very natural.

In our tests, we discovered the following access options: There is a button on the hearing aid itself. This allows you to adjust the volume or activate additional hearing programs. It can be programmed according to customer preferences. Using it, of course, is optional. A remote control is available for the Audeo Paradise 30 312. It is quite practical, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume control option as well as various hearing programs.
In our tests, we did not find any voice control options. While this function is not necessarily required, we would have appreciated it nonetheless. There is no control of the hearing aids with a simple touch in this Phonak model, as specific sensors would have been needed in the casing for that.
We always have our smartphone with us, and with the Audeo Paradise 30 312, it’s worth it because it can be customized via an app. The app is also fun to use and offers a range of features that one wouldn't expect in a hearing aid app. If you enjoy playing, this is just the right place. You don’t need headphones anymore because it has a wireless option and can transmit sounds directly from the smartphone to your ears – provided the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This makes getting used to the new sound significantly easier.
We regret that the Audeo Paradise 30 312 does not have a rechargeable battery but operates with hearing aid batteries size 312. This is not a major issue, but one should remember to carry spare batteries. On the other hand, this hearing aid does not need to be charged daily; it runs for a longer time on a single battery.
We also take a look at the robustness of the casing and discover in the data sheet the protection class IP 68. This means that dust cannot enter at all, and water only becomes dangerous after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.

Mal sehen, wie das bei diesem Phonak-Gerät ist: Phonak hat einen Geräuschgenerator integriert, der für Tinnitus-Geplagte ein paar lindernde Klänge abspielt. Das kann vom Tinnitus ablenken und für etwas mehr Entspannung sorgen.
Die Möglichkeit zur Ferneinstellung finden wir richtig gut. Die ist immer dann sehr hilfreich, wenn man nur eine Kleinigkeit an der Hörgerät-Einstellung verändert haben möchte, aber nicht extra zum Hörakustiker fahren will. Den Kontakt nimmt man stattdessen über die App auf, und der Hörprofi schickt ein angepasstes Datenpaket auf dem gleichen Weg zurück.
Manche Hörgeräte können bestimmte Gesundheitsdaten tracken. Allerdings braucht es dazu spezielle Sensoren im Hörgerät, die wir beim Audeo Paradise 30 312 leider nicht haben. Das Gerät von Phonak konzentriert sich auf die wesentlichen Hörfunktionen und bietet keine Extras wie Srachassistenten oder Übersetzungsfunktion an. Das hätte zwar Spaß gemacht, ist für ein gutes Hörerlebnis aber nicht erforderlich.
