Additional programs for specific hearing situations can also be selected through this. Those who prefer not to touch their ear to adjust the volume will appreciate the optional remote control. This allows for comfortable and discreet adjustments to the hearing aid.
For some time now, there has been a trend to adjust hearing aids louder or softer using voice commands. The idea is really good, but Phonak is not quite there yet with this device. Don't worry, this feature would be nice but is not essential. Some hearing aids can also be controlled with a quick tap of the finger, without needing to press a button. However, this feature has not yet been implemented here.
The operation of the Slim Lumity 50 R is relatively straightforward through the accompanying app. It offers a lot of additional features and has impressed us quite a bit. We particularly liked using the equalizer in our tests. As someone with normal hearing, you can’t help but feel a little envious; you don't find such features with wireless headphones yet. A streaming option would be great for our digital daily lives. The present device meets our wish and comes with a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows you to send phone calls and sounds directly from your smartphone to the hearing aids.

However, this is not quite sufficient for acoustically complex moments, where one cannot avoid further manual adjustment options. Very important for us regarding simplicity is the support during the adjustment period. Especially after having heard poorly for many years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device features an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adaptation phase. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
An extremely useful development of recent years, in our opinion, is the integrated battery. We are used to recharging electronic devices in our daily lives. And the Slim Lumity 50 R is rechargeable as well, so we can avoid the annoying battery changes.
With IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse influences. Dust cannot enter, it can endure prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.
