Of course, this Phonak device includes noise suppression, as that has become standard. Noise suppression means that even, somewhat monotonous sounds (e.g., air conditioning, vacuum cleaner ...) are dampened. Here, the disruptive noises can be adjusted in several levels, allowing you to decide how much suppression is truly comfortable.
A so-called bang filter would have been nice; it would have made the clattering when unloading the dishwasher a bit more bearable. But we have to do without that in the Virto Paradise 30 312. When the wind blows through the microphones outdoors, we wish for wind noise reduction. However, that is missing here, and in some outdoor situations, it can significantly affect hearing comfort. We always take a close look at the number of equalizer bands. They are important for adjusting the sound of a hearing aid as accurately as possible to the hearing curve. Additionally, the speech noise management also occurs within these bands. The Virto Paradise 30 312 has 12 of them. That is okay. Normal hearers usually don’t think about spatial hearing. With this hearing aid, we don’t have to either. A sophisticated system of directional microphones and binaural wireless networking generates a 3D effect that closely resembles natural hearing.
The signal processing is based, among other things, on typical frequency patterns of speech and noise, but artificial intelligence is not yet employed here.

It can be programmed entirely according to the customer's wishes. The use is, of course, optional. A remote control is available for the Virto Paradise 30 312. It is quite practical, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume control option as well as various hearing programs.

We continue our test and try out how easy this hearing aid is to handle. After all, it should simplify the everyday life of hearing aid users and not complicate it further. When it comes to ease of hearing, we do not make any compromises. We expect the hearing aid to operate fully automatically in the background and not make us constantly press any buttons. We are somewhat disappointed with the Virto Paradise 30 312. Only the basic situations are automatically recognized. This means that we cannot really get by without manual operation options. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually raises the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and slowly get used to the new hearing impressions.
Many hearing aids today have a rechargeable battery, but the Virto Paradise 30 312 still uses disposable batteries. This is somewhat cumbersome to handle and also burdens the environment.
Unfortunately, this hearing aid does not have any special protection against dust or moisture, and there is no certification that defines the robustness of the device. It may not be very suitable for an active lifestyle.

A very good added benefit comes from the remote maintenance service. Through the app, you can contact your audiologist and describe your hearing problem. They can make adjustments accordingly and load them into the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long commute, this is a great service.
Tracking health data is a real added value in modern hearing aids. However, this Phonak model lacks the sensors for this service. This Phonak hearing aid does not come with any additional lifestyle options. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but you don't need that for good hearing. It would have just made the product a bit cooler.
