The Virto Paradise 70 312 NW O from Phonak is a small hearing aid that is worn in the ear. By using it as the sound output close to the eardrum, very good sound transmission is possible. The hearing comfort package also includes wind noise suppression. It works very reliably, and we wouldn't want to do without it anymore. The suppression of short, loud sound events has convinced us here; it is quite powerful. Typically, those with normal hearing don’t think about spatial hearing. With this hearing aid, we don’t have to either. A sophisticated system of directional microphones and binaural wireless networking generates a 3D effect that closely resembles natural hearing. With 20 channels, the frequency band count in the Virto Paradise 70 312 NW O is very high. This allows the hearing aid to be perfectly adjusted to any hearing ability and also offers good long-term tuning options.

Operation & connectivity
Since you probably don't have your audiologist by your side all the time, it's quite helpful to be able to make changes to the hearing aid yourself. This is very sensible, as it is the easiest and fastest way to make adjustments. The volume can be adjusted through it, and different listening programs can also be activated. For some time now, there has been a trend of adjusting hearing aids louder or quieter using voice commands. The idea is really good, but Phonak is not there yet with this device. Don't worry, this feature would be nice, but it is dispensable. Besides buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids also have a tap control. This means you can just tap your ear briefly, and the device will switch. However, we don’t have that here at Phonak; it would have required specific sensors.
If you are looking for an app, unfortunately, you won't find one here. The Virto Paradise 70 312 NW O has to do without smart control functions. That point goes missing. A wireless connection to a smartphone or laptop is not possible, as the necessary hardware components are lacking. You should think carefully about whether you can do without this feature, but why not just give it a try?

Typical hearing situations that anyone experiences in their environment are reliably recognized and adjusted through automatic settings. However, for more specific, recurring requirements, one cannot avoid using the manual hearing programs. Very important to us in terms of simplicity is the support during the acclimatization process. Especially after having heard poorly for years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. In our test device, there is an acclimatization manager that helps us through the adjustment phase with very small volume adjustments. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
Many hearing aids today have a rechargeable battery, but the Virto Paradise 70 312 NW O continues to operate with disposable batteries. This is somewhat cumbersome in handling and also puts a strain on the environment.
