The Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC provides customers with comprehensive noise management. Normal noise suppression is definitely present. It is designed to dampen constant noises like street noise or the hum of an air conditioner. In our test device from Phonak, you can be absolutely satisfied with the noise reduction. On the one hand, it has a remarkable level of control, meaning it can significantly reduce noises. On the other hand, it can be adjusted in multiple stages; after all, you don’t need full suppression at all times.
We are pleased to find a good and efficient impulse noise reduction here. This is definitely useful in everyday life, as it noticeably dampens slamming doors, clattering dishes, or similarly jarring sounds. Wind is also a topic that can limit hearing comfort outdoors. However, the Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC handles this confidently and activates noise suppression in such situations. By the way, it can be adjusted in stages. We found an impressive 20 equalizer bands in the Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC. In each band, the hearing aid activates its noise management, filtering out disruptive components while retaining important speech elements. Sound modifications can be targeted and precisely executed. We are very satisfied with this. Especially in the case of sharp or steeply falling hearing curves, such a hearing aid can be very useful. The Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC showcases its full strength in spatial hearing: Due to its deep position just before the eardrum, sound collection occurs as if you were using an ear without a hearing aid. The outer ear naturally directs sound into the ear canal, and the available head shadow effects are further utilized. Such good 3D hearing could probably not be artificially generated.

It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This allows for discreet small adjustments to the volume or sound.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but this one from Phonak unfortunately cannot yet. It would be practical when fingers are not as mobile, or if one simply likes smart gadgets. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, tap control would be conceivable, which would involve triggering a certain function by tapping the ear with your fingers. However, this option is not available in the Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC.
We searched in the App Store in vain for an app for further settings, which we would have preferred differently. If you were looking forward to wireless streaming, we unfortunately have to disappoint you, as a wireless module was not integrated here.

However, when the acoustic environment becomes a bit more complex, the automation reaches its limits, and we prefer to rely on manual adjustment options. A great feature of this hearing aid is the automatic acclimatization. Especially when someone has been hearing poorly for a long time and is wearing a hearing aid for the first time, this is a huge relief. The volume does not have to be raised fully right away. You can start at a lower level, and gradually and almost imperceptibly, the amplification approaches the target.
The Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC is not rechargeable; it operates with hearing aid batteries. Unlike rechargeable batteries, it doesn't need to be charged daily, but the size 10 battery will need to be replaced after a few days.
The data sheet certifies the Phonak device with an IP protection class of 68. Thus, it is among the most durable hearing aids on the market. Dust doesn’t stand a chance, and water does not penetrate the housing unless submerged deeper than 1.5 meters. However, be cautious. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid salty water. In everyday life, though, you can behave quite carefree.

Everyone appreciates a few extra features, so let's see if we can find something here: We noticed the tinnitus option. If desired, one can have a special tinnitus program set up. What about remote maintenance? Such online services save a trip to the specialist shop, because you can contact an acoustics professional directly through the app. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything like that for the Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC. It's a shame, it would have been a great additional tool.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the Virto Paradise 70 Titanium CIC. The hearing aid also forgoes additional features like special assistance systems, a fall alarm, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it doesn't affect the important hearing functions.
