The control options for hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as anyone would like them to be. The basic functions operate fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how users can additionally access the Quattro NEO 7 61-DRWC. The simplest control option is always a button directly on the hearing aid. This model has one too. It can be programmed to your liking. Do you want manual volume control? No problem, the button allows for step-by-step volume adjustment. Or do you need different special programs for your professional daily life or your hobbies? These can also be activated via the button. Anyone who prefers to keep everything in automatic mode can simply ignore the button or even have it disabled. A very practical option is the small remote control, which is available for purchase. For us, it’s one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid to be louder or quieter or to switch to another hearing program. No one notices, and there’s no need to reach for the ear.
Voice commands are a relatively new way to operate hearing aids. However, we do not have this option in this model yet. That’s not too bad - the main thing is that you can hear well. Tap Control would have also been an interesting feature. With it, you could change functions with a quick tap on the ear. But that isn’t available in the Quattro NEO 7 61-DRWC yet.
The best way to set up the Quattro NEO 7 61-DRWC is with the corresponding app. The first apps from earlier had just one screen, but this one offers far more than just the usual volume control. Here, we clearly have points of praise. One of the best features of the hearing aid is the direct streaming functionality. This turns the hearing aid into a TrueWireless headphone, receiving phone calls and other sounds directly in the ear. A compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz technology is required. The biggest advantage is that phone calls can be heard not just in one ear but in both. Additionally, the sound can be adjusted to personal preferences.

This already ensures that we don't have to constantly adjust something on the hearing aid. The integrated acclimatization manager can be of great help when starting in the world of hearing aids. Its task is to gradually increase the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until the target volume is reached. This way, you can relax and gradually get used to the new auditory impressions. A charger is included with the Quattro NEO 7 61-DRWC, as it has built-in batteries. This is contemporary, user-friendly, and it's what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
The hearing aid has been classified within the IP protection class 68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against dust ingress. Water is also not likely to harm the hearing aid easily. Therefore, it is well-equipped for outdoor activities, where it can get wet and dirty. However, you should still avoid bathing or swimming with the hearing aids. Everyone appreciates a few extra features, so let's see if we can find something here: We really liked the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently troubled by a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Quattro NEO 7 61-DRWC is essentially just a sound generator. It aims to produce broad-spectrum sounds or noises that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus gets drowned out and is no longer perceived as bothersome.
We find the remote maintenance service very interesting. If one doesn't have the opportunity to go to the hearing specialist, they can instead contact them through the app, briefly describe their hearing issue, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If that sounds good, they can upload it to their hearing aids.
There are no sensors in this Quattro NEO 7 variant, so the popular health tracking feature cannot be offered. For example, steps throughout the day are counted. As mentioned - this hearing aid does not have that function on board. The functionality of the Quattro NEO 7 61-DRWC is limited to normal hearing, which is perfectly fine. Additional features such as fall alarms or Siri connections do provide significant added value but are not relevant for good hearing balance.
